I'm pretty sure that gable end trim is supposed to go on top of the roof sheets with butyl tape along the edge to seal against rain blowing in the edge of the roof... just like the wall corner edge trim pieces...could be wrong about that but all the barns and garages in Kansas are that way...lol
@desbuckle69072 күн бұрын
With my limited building experience i do find your comment correct, the gable end trim is fitted over the top edge to stop rain and wind from lifting the edge of the sheets in high winds and allowing water access.

just a thought with your recent painting skills from the down stairs shop why not spray paint the workshop same colour scheme as house and small power / water shed ?

I remember the project you started before you built the apartment above the garage it is still not done. It's the one when you pour the footers and the stemwall out of blocks.

The gable trim needs to go on top of the roof. Unless you put a sealer on the gable trim water will migrate in between both.

I have a suggestion for all of those shoes and boots. Build an open exterior mudroom roof that covers the stairway and the door adjacent to it, extending it out to the railing. To keep having that beautiful view available, cover this area with a roof only. This shall keep the area dry and free from snow, your stairway shall be safe without wet and snowy steps, you shall have dry access to your firewood bin and of course, lots of shelving for your shoes and boots. A little sitting space to remove the shoes and boots would be great too.

Soo good to have you'all back, hope you had a fantastic Christmas, and Charlie too. If this was filmed in December you are soo lucky all other videos from US places are covered in Snow, Great music choice. Come on Nick, has youre Get up and Go got up and Gone?😩😛You deffo need a shoe rack, a nice revolving one with lots of shelves each side. You dont have any more Major projects to do unless you start to build the house. Watch ya gonna do?🤔 Next time we see you'all will be next year 2025. I'll just wish you'all a Very Happy New Year and all the good coming youre way. lots of Love from the UK x x

Any chance of building a ladder to the loft but encompassing storage for shoes and maybe hanging, or would this stick out too far into your living area?
@tylerbarrett66522 күн бұрын
Oh c'mon... you gotta have a place to keep extra tires. Maybe disguise it a little? Put a clever bin on the back of the firewood shed or something to keep them hidden and out of sight? ... but you GOTTA have a place to keep those. I mean... unless it is actually likely that you'll never have a use for them - then, yeah EBay or Facebook Marketplace or something makes good sense. Wishing you a Happy New Year!!

Yes, cats always play with a catch to death, just like they are killed when they get caught. Cats will also puke said mouse up shortly. Louis probably has worms. Next time you are in town pick up some de-wormer for him. It's sold in grocery stores, Home Depot type places. It's cheap. Your place looks nice.

Been enjoying your videos for some time now and enjoy how well you work together. Maybe it's just me, but I also follow this cover band from Australia and the couple in this first song here, seem to look like you 2. Doppelgangers from down-under? :-) Like I said, maybe it's just me that see's a resemblance... kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIC1nmR-pap-hac
