This video shows the completion of the TIE bomber model from Mos Eisley Modelworks along with the display stand. Jason Chadwell from Mos Eisley Modelworks returns for the final reveal of the project and the video concludes with the announcement of the winner of the raffle. Two additional prizes are also drawn for.
NOTE: Unfortunately, upon logging back into the Skype, the app had defaulted to using the computer's mic instead of the higher quality one from the logitech camera. This resulted in poor audio quality on my end during the final review unfortunately. I did a quick test before hand but it wasn't a long enough capture to notice the quality issue. I apologize for the terrible audio.

I just watched your video and like you said, you always learn something new. You gave themix of paint you used for the build. I never noticed that all the Empire craft have a bluish hue to them while the Rebel fleet does not. I picked up a can of Tamiya AS26 Light Ghost Grey and it looks almost spot on to me. So thank you for teaching this old dog a new trick.🤙🤙🤙

Oh hells yeah, that's much better. That's pretty close to pretty damn good. I have a couple of cans of that foam stuff, so when you mentioned in your reply over there on the X-Wing trench diorama that you were using it for explosion effects here, I was a little wary. Not so sure, because I've played with that stuff before. But you really have pulled it off here. Much much better.

Thanks....and it looks way better with the lights off. I plan to redo the explosions with the Trench diorama. I honestly debated about proceeding with cotton at the time because it looks ok lit, but definitely is lacking. Appreciate the follow up comments. Have a great one

@@InterstellarModeler No prob. Watching people get creative with resin model kits, like adding stuff that wasn't in the original kit or customizing it, and especially solving problems in a creative manner, like you do, and scratch builds from every material you can get your hands on are my mainstay of favorite flavors on KZbin. I've got a totally scratch built cardboard Smaug head almost finished, about 10 inches from snout to the rear horn tips, all scaly and covered with horns, and yellow glass eyes that I'm gonna backlight when it's finished... But I intend on building the entire dragon, and I don't know what I was getting myself into. The damn thing is going to be about 3 ft long. Still, that's what I do. Scratch build models out of cardboard, and make them look as awesome as is necessary. I've got a couple of videos on my channel, they're not good at all, they're just videos of me painting details on the Smaug head, and talking a lot of bullshit about nothing really. But when it's finished, I'll have to do some serious editing and whatnot to kind of get the build looking like something that starts on one end and finishes on the other. And, at the moment I'm working on a cardboard X-Wing. Let me tell you, this thing is going to be crazy awesome. That'll go on my KZbin channel eventually, too. Then the Milano from Guardians of the Galaxy, and a 3-ft tall T-800 Terminator endoskeleton made from cardboard, fully articulate, and coated with thin aluminum from baking pans... Oh just all kinds of fun stuff I'm going to fill my channel with eventually. Maybe I'll get as popular as you someday! Making cardboard models from scratch is something I used to do when I was a kid, and only recently rediscovered. So I'm kind of starting my whole collection all over again from scratch. When I was a kid, I had every Star Wars thing you can imagine made out of cardboard. Plus the NCC-170A Enterprise, one of those Klingon battle cruisers that you only get to see in Star Trek the motion picture, Martian tripod fighting machines from War of the worlds that I designed myself, man I had all kinds of models, dozens when I was a kid. I faintly remember throwing them away at one point, that was stupid. Anyway, I'm rebuilding my collection now. All there is really to see on my KZbin channel is the Smaug head, I'm building it as two pieces separated into the top half of the head and the lower jaw with the tongue all curled and stuff and lots of teeth and everything painted really detailed in what I hope are the correct colors, my reference is a 3D model that somebody else did, and screenshots from The Hobbit... But it looks pretty damn cool so far. When I have a few videos up, I'll give you a shout. You can tell me if I'm still any good! It's been a decade or three since I've really built anything serious out of cardboard, but I'm back at it with a vengeance.

@@InterstellarModeler You know what would be super fantabulastic? If you used that foam to create a diorama of a nuclear explosion, you know, the mushroom cloud. Going off right on top of a big city like New York or Hong Kong. I've seen other people attempt to build nuclear explosion dioramas, and they just never really come off as really really good. Okay, moderate to fair, kind of cool, but these small explosions here in your Tie bomber diorama just by themselves look better than several mushroom cloud dioramas I've seen other people build. They use chicken wire, cotton, which seems like it should work, but it just winds up getting frazzled or something usually, but man. You really did pull these explosions off, I'm still kind of trying to get over it because I was prepared for it not to be just as super awesome as you made it look. You figured out a one of a kind technique for explosions here, that's for sure. Everybody who tries to build explosions in dioramas should be copying your technique here. Anyway, yeah. A nuclear attack. Big city. Think, that scene in Terminator 2 Judgment Day when the nuke went off.

This looks amazing!! I definitely prefer the expanding foam fire ball over the cotton! I have used expanding foam in the past to reinforce the structure of vinyl models, but never considered using it for an explosion. I will have to give it a try! Congratulations to the raffle winners as well!

@@InterstellarModeler I just found something to use for small windows. All that hard clear plastic clam shell packaging on so many consumer items. I cut out all the shapes and flats in that clear packaging. I even found a small dome piece that would be great for some small type view port. Just wanted to pass that idea along. Really enjoy your videos! I've have a few models and my 6 yr. old Grandson loves them. I bought him the Atlantis Red Baron snap kit for a starter and helped him with it. Do you have any good ideas for starter kits for maybe Dad and sons or my case Grandad and Grandson? Maybe you can do a video on great starter kits? Tks!
@InterstellarModeler
@InterstellarModeler 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Harley...thanks for your nice comments. You know the Bandai kits are actually not a bad way to start if you're wanting to look into doing something with SWars. Glue is often not needed but just bear in mind the parts can be small so caution as possible hazards. But the kits are sometimes similar to putting a lego kit together. I'd recommend some of the figure kits and the fighters. Go with the large scaled models too. None of them are really large but some can get very small too. Hope that helps.
