I have become well motivated watching you get some stuff done. I'm getting back to work on my layout too. I have spent the last 2 weeks (Spring Break for the kids) fabricating some new benchwork. No videos etc. just needed to get it done. Thanks for another update.

Thanks! I've been trying to keep at it. It was good to get all the track laid, other than the bridges. It felt like I took a step forward.

The track seems to run well. I was happy with how the lift-out section track turned out.

hi Steve , did you use PCB boards if you did can you send me a link where to buy them and where to buy those tacks at

Jerry, these aren't what I bought, these are better, all the work has been done for you. handlaidtrack.com/product/ch-ho-x/?v=7516fd43adaa

did you have a video on the building of the pullout section it self ?
@SPSteveАй бұрын
I believe so Jerry. One thing to note, in the construction video I show installing a pair of latches to hold the lift-out section in place. I removed those, they are not necessary.

Great video! What is the purpose of the hardwood ends to hold down ends of track for? Also, purpose of pc board is? Novice in me asking lol
@SPSteve2 ай бұрын
The hardwood blocks make for a solid anchor for mounting the track. Pine or Spruce is too soft in my opinion although it may work OK. The PC board ties allow me to attach the track to the hardwood blocks. I solder the track rails to the PC board strips and anchor the PC board strips into the hardwood block using nails. That along with the brass table leaf pins assure perfect track alignment with zero effort. Lift the section out, put it back in, perfect alignment. Be sure to cut through the top copper layer of the PC tie so the rails aren't shorted together but don't cut through the PC board.

Where did you get the pc board material?

I got it from Fast Tracks but you might find something you can use on Amazon.
