This is what I call PRO...very simple solution to complex design.
@bakes5586

The surfacing at the beginning was good however over complicated, a simple 3D sketch is the better option, to assist the curve which can be on a standard plane. You can draw the curve, create a separate 3D sketch as a new feature. Then follow your other steps for the boundary surface. A good thing to also note, rather than a spline, build an organic form using a 3 point arc. You need to be able to apply a radius to a mould to create something like this, unless the mould is hand carved. A series of radii you can dimension on a drawing. I’d also recommend creating a sketch of a square followed by a pattern, either as a sketch or feature pattern, up to you. Cool table however you don’t need to create so many bodies to achieve this. A simple sketch will be fine. Keep on teaching, I learnt some new tips so thank you, always something new learn!

Thank you for your feedback and additional insights! You make some great points about simplifying the surfacing process with a 3D sketch and using a 3-point arc instead of a spline for an organic form. It's always helpful to consider different approaches and techniques to achieve the desired result in the most efficient way possible. And you're absolutely right about creating a sketch and pattern to achieve the same result as the multiple bodies shown in the video. There are often multiple ways to approach a design, and it's important to find the method that works best for the specific project and design goals. I'm glad to hear that you found the video helpful and learned some new tips. As you mentioned, there's always something new to learn in the world of CAD design, and it's important to keep exploring and experimenting to improve your skills and techniques.

Hi there, loved the tutorial but could not finish the main part; I get the "unable to create a single body that is the sum of the input bodies part " error message. I tried to use your technique to combine two much simpler body but ended up with the same error message; is there a fix to it? I researched it a bit in forums and some suggest to use the ident tool instead, still I would like to know how to fix this, hope you and others can help.

you certainly can! select the spline to show those arrows, if they don't show, then it's a different issue with a different solution, but if they do, just use those arrows to drag them around

i have one good question for you Aryan now i want to make this table for industrial use i need to make it from sheet metal and everypart need to connectible with each other like a wooden puzzle toy can i do that with command easy way or i need to do that one by one by hand ?
@with-Aryan
@with-Aryan 2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't do that one by one. I'd do row by row and column by column at the most. Each row with a single sheet with cuts in it to accommodate the perpendicular row.

Well... "Axes" and "Inferencing"... does it ring a bell to someone...!!?? Or you are wearing your gloves on your feets...!!??
@with-Aryan
@with-Aryan Жыл бұрын
Yes, "axes" and "inferencing" are both commonly used terms in CAD software, including SOLIDWORKS. "Axes" typically refer to the coordinate system axes in a 3D space, which are used to define the position and orientation of objects in the design. "Inferencing" typically refers to the process of automatically aligning or constraining objects based on their proximity to other objects or geometric features. Both of these concepts are important to understand when working with CAD software, as they can help you create accurate and efficient designs. If you have any specific questions or concerns about using these concepts in SOLIDWORKS, feel free to let me know and I'll do my best to assist you.
