For the door, it can be no door for paternoster, and there's also a vertical door that opens upwards/downwards. Most of the time those are central door with opening in the middle and only can be found on service/industrial lifts (though I have no idea what's the purpose vs the normal horizontal one). They can be either manual or automatic.

Well done on both videos. I'm curious... how is power and control connectivity provided to the car? Is there a big cable fed from a spindle, or some other mechanism?

There are cables 3 or 4 cables called travelers that are big that run the wiring to the motor room controllers and machine which is the motor that come back down the shaft and get connected underneath the car in a loop
