What you keep reminding me of, in your paintings, is to alter the scene to make a better painting. I wish this came naturally, but it’s a struggle. Excellent tutorials.

Relationships - shape to shape, color to color, brushstrokes, hues, intensity...so much to think about all at the same time. I need to watch this several times to realize all the instruction in it. Thanks, Michael!

The frenzied brush motion conveys vibrancy of the powers of observation, breathing in the seaside air, a sense of 'awareness', 'being there'.

Michael, thank you for another wonderful painting. I can feel the light reflecting off the cliff and the breeze pushing the water to shore.

It turned out beautifully! There was an area just over the distant mountain that had a beautiful blue peaking through the cloud. One of those magic moments that I was hoping you wouldn't paint over. Unfortunately you did, but I definitely see what you were talking about.

Thanks Nancy! What we consider magic is different for all of us! I guess that's what makes our paintings unique.

Love this! I also really think you have a great intuition on how to adjust values when what’s presented in front of your just isn’t working. I really like how the cliffs ended up. The whole painting is very inviting

Nice painting! I think the horizon line just off center works well in this case.

@@chamberlainpaintings michaei, prolly won’t see this belated comment ( telling you of the angel in the rock , 10:08 . Had seen things that day of this video. ( michael, there is “ magic “ in your paintings that you have spoke of and I do enjoy seeing them. Sometimes the imagery is sooo complex that it is difficult , or too complex , for exacting words).

What kind of easel are you using please? Looks like the Coulter easel palette? I have one of those. Can you me where you got the upright tripod?
