Compression Check | Cobra Down?

Well, after driving to Mexico with ‪@MustangLifestyleTV‬ and his gorgeous GT350R, the Cobra had a tick at idle.
It sounded like an exhaust leak, but after a mishap earlier this summer, I couldn't be too sure. It was time for a compression check to really get a good idea on the health of the engine.
38k miles, stock rotating assembly (minus rod bolts and oil gear pump), now making more than double the power the engine left the factory from

False alarm...still rockin'! I just subbed here but I've been watching your videos for a long time Kevin. Love the car! I've had 2 Terminators over the last 6 years. Now I have an 03 Mineral Grey convertible(black). Guy I bought it from said it was DSG but when I checked the door tag it said TK for mineral grey. Turns out it is 1 of only 154 with this combo. I think I'll be holding on to this baby awhile...like forever!! lol Love your videos.

Glad the motor is good,i been following you for years and i saw you on Andrews Mustang Lifestyle channel so i came over there. Its been prob like a year of content i have to catch up on. It sux now that i sold my fox cause it was rusted bad so im mustanless which is rare. Gonna take a long break buy a good aily and when im 100% back stable i will start saving again and this time im getting a Terminator.

This was a very informative Video and Im glad you didnt have a motor issue. Can you do me a favor and define where the EGR Block Off Cap/Plug is located on your drivers side near the Head. I have a similar issue with my 03 Terminator and want to insure thats what it is otherwise I to will be crossing my fingers when I do a Compression check. Thank you for a great article.

Do you have Longtubes along with an EGR delete? Placement will vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer I'd assume. But if you remove the drivers front wheel, it is just behind the fender line. Pretty much in plain sight

Thank you. I’m still running stock exhaust manifolds (wish I had long tubes). I’d be really happy to know I have the same issue you had rather than the infamous “tic tic tic” from the cylinder head.

@@raybsure7438 so on the stock setup. There is essentially a metal tube that takes some of the exhaust gases and routes them back up to the Supercharger to be reused again. That's the "recirculation" in the Exhaust Gas Recirculation. I have since deleted the EGR leaving the tube to be capped

Ok, I used to run a Lysholm 3300 Blower and deleted my EGR. When I went back to a ported Eaton (Lysholm Head Unit seized up!!) I had my shop reinstall the EGR. Maybe like yours it’s loose. I’m guessing of course.

Did the camps lower your compression? I was getting ~120psi on my 03 cobra. But I've got a set of comp cams in mine, with a 297 scat stroker rotating assembly.

Great videos. I recently purchased a 03 with 85000 and I think it is stock except for cold air, not sure if it even has a tune. What is the least expensive way to get 500 to the wheels. I would appreciate your advice

Ported stock Supercharger and an custom dyno tune. Will need smaller upper pulley, maybe injectors and a few other small parts

I had blown the header gasket to absolute bits. The Mac LTs don't have a solid header flange and I think it wiggles loose over time.

I like the bike story, I gapped a GSXR 1000 in my old pullied terminator. Must've been about 15 years ago. My new terminator (new to me) is faster, I'm sure the bikes are faster now.
