And btw it has MANY Filler, even more as Naruto, which Anime is popular for the many Filler Episodes. Filler Episodes aren't canon and they don't bring the story forward. But why do they make them then? Because the Anime always has to stay behind the script: the Manga. Since Gosho Aoyama - the author - often takes breaks the Studio has to use more Filler Episodes. Of Detective Conan 41% are Filler Episodes, you can skip all of them. If you don't know anything about Detective Conan, better keep your mouth shut.

I also watch One Piece and Naruto (which came to an end last year tho) and even though they're long I really have fun watching them. I watched One Piece and Detective Conan in my childhood anyway so I knew most of the things already. Most of the people in the fandom know it from their childhood too, it's a classic anime after all. I can understand that people are scared of the many episodes but it doesn't give you the right to talk bad about it. Detective Conan comes always up with new secrets none like the other and they make you want to keep watching to see the secret revealed and heck I'm not talking about random cases (which are indeed nice as well) but also about the mainstory so everything about the black organization etc. If you don't watch it you can't know about what Detective Conan makes an amazing show so don't judge just because of the episodes. They don't make it boring or something like that at all.
