Instead of changing the format of the show, make this idea a separate micro podcast called "Conan O'Brien Needs a Bandmate." Anytime you have a guest who's a musician on CONAF, you record this separate segment as bonus content. The podcast starts with Conan and Matt very seriously talking about how they need a bandmate, then they ask their guest a music related question as part of the audition process. Two seconds after the guest starts to answer the question, Conan and Matt should just launch into a ditty they wrote and ignore the guest. When the song is finished, they should confront the guest about never joining in despite not having any instruments and not knowing their song. If the guest ever does try to join in, stop the song immediately and confront the guest about how awful they're making the song sound with their contributions. The podcast always ends with a very upset Conan asking the guest to leave because they either won't contribute or because they "don't understand the material." Sona, naturally, would always play devil's advocate for the guest.
