I mean, I love Scott Weiland, but jump back and forth between the two of them and yikes. That said, I prefer Weiland's lyrics over Hetfield's, who unfortunate feels like he he has a rhyming dictionary on him at all times

The folding chair episode at the L.A. Coliseum was at the 1988 Monsters of Rock tour and I was there, on the field trying to duck flying folding chairs as I slowly made my way towards the stage to be closer to Metallica, but the closer I got to the stage, the less I could see.

I still can't fully let go of Metallica attacking their fans (and a free and open internet) during the Napster Debacle. Nevermind the fact that bands who leaned into "letting fans steal their albums" led to MORE album sales, Metallica went out of their way to sue everyone they could and slam the door shut on freely sharing files. Yes, they should try and protect their property. But they didn't stop there, they felt that since Napster was being used to pirate THEIR stuff, NOBODY should have the freedom to use it.

@@waynecanning4122 copying a digital file that can be infinitely copied can be in no way equated to "stealing" something, which implies that a piece of property was taken away from someone who owned it, and who now no longer owns it because it was stolen from them don't get confused by the rampant anti-freedom propaganda mentality that is so dominant these days
@GameTesterBootCamp
@GameTesterBootCamp Жыл бұрын
@@waynecanning4122 I didn't say that. In fact, I said the opposite. They are totally within their right to try and protect their IP, but they took it upon themselves to make that decision for EVERYONE who used the service. They didn't want to just restrict the piracy of THEIR music, they took it upon themselves to prevent ANYONE from distributing their music this way. This basically destroyed the idea of a small artist/band having a free and accessible way of distributing their music. Admittedly it sounds insane that anyone would be against them in this endeavor, but once you dig into the real impact of their actions (which they were VERY aware of) it makes them look really terrible.
