its the best thing they made its making the game so much more fun to play with and give so many option to build, and i hope so much they gonna do something like this to khitan soon i have waitet on a extra set to khitan since it came out and i have played since it came out in early access so 7 years now, and this set brings so much more joy to the game,

It's got some pretty tough competition from Stormglass Cathedral & Full Aesir, but yeah this is probably up there in contention with the best for sure, finally makes Yamatai usable for me 😂

Genuinely fantastic bundle imo - as mentioned nearer the end of the video, I'm pretty sure folks have wanted an extension to the base Yamatai DLC building set for a while now, and I've been included with that. Glad to see you show it off, and that you liked it; I really think this has brought Yamatai building up to where it needed to be now Ty for the video as always

Absolutely agreed, Yamatai felt quite dated before now, this bundle has done wonders for it. I'm really hoping Frontier and Khitan get this treatment too

Thanks for the video. I've been waiting millions of years for this set, it may not be perfect, but it meets my expectations to a large extent. Now I have to rebuild my city in the south and find a place in the north for another one, because after all, this set looks the coolest in the winter atmosphere and surroundings.

YESSS! These curved roofs are exactly what I've been looking for for a long time now. The Murayama set from Northern Timber comes close, but not quite! This looks amazing!

It's a reasonable price point, too. But when I did pick this up, I vigilant help but laugh and cry at the same time when I saw the Aquilonian Elevator set for 1250 when this set is going for 1200. I hope that's a change they are making with the sudden changes they are currently talking about.

as soon as i saw your thumbnail last night for this, i bought it. after getting the onsen set, the Yamatai bar set... i needed this. i can finally build my Yamatai manor and get it closer to what a Japanese manor looks like

Gratitude for the preview. This one is ready to commit. There are a few pieces missing (wedge foundation and ceiling, wrap around balcony for rounded towers, and sloped walls in that lovely timber style, this one has been looking for a good full interior timber wall set since Stable building pieces came out) but they are not necessary. Many pieces can work to elevate other sets, especially Khitan. That they have the wedge awnings is an extremely beloved thing. While this one has little affection for Yamatai in general (there are other Hyborian Age cultures that are gruesomely neglected, especially with how scant Yamatai even exists in the lore), this is still a very good and utile expansion. The Balconies especially look like something that could see use in many other build sets. Again, gratitude. Hopefully we see more along this line in the future.

Thanks Veridian, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah a couple of missing pieces, but overall a very well made set. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the last we see of Yamatai for a good while. Tavern, Onsen and now an extension of the DLC set seems like a good way to round it off and have it future-proofed for a while, I'm hoping we'll get a Khitan extension in the future, or maybe a Frontier one

A 'Good Buy' indeed. Though missing all the weapons and armour sets we got back from the old DLC packs for the same cost, this is a complete set really and will be an excellent addition to any Looking forward to seeing the Builders on my servers do their thing with this pack. Build and Roleplay servers. 9 out of 10.

The beams allow for some walls to be placed in the mid-block (at least to one space) which can break up some longer rooms nicely! Though saying that, agree about the wedges. And the awnings are the kind of awnings I've wanted for a while - it's hard to get a good roof overhang that isn't too bulky in the base sets, so I hope they release more of these types of awnings for the other sets.

I found when putting the corner awning on first, it aligns properly almost every time. I've started to build this way with the set and it's so much easier.

@@Eradicati0nn Just before this came out, I was invited to play on a large private server and built a pair of Yamati long houses with a landscaped courtyard in the middle. When I say this set came I couldn't resist because I was so desperate to build a pagoda and imperial Yamati style castle.

Fun fact: for hybrid builds, Khitan has an almost identical red accent. I'm currently trying to make a House of Blood using only red building pieces, and this set is a Godsend.

Yeah Yamatai finally feels like a complete and modern set now. I don't see a Nemedian expansion myself, though I think Khitan is probably very likely for the next expansion. Hopefully a completely new building set for the new age though

This is a great set. Very nice and unique pieces. My only complaint, I think light should glow through the white panels (rice paper).

Yeah I can see that complaint, I imagine it might be difficult to code, but light does already leak a bit so you might be able to get that effect with some carefully placed torches

I always thought the Yamatai set was cool but lacked pazazz. Between the onsen bundle and this one, it has definately been elevated to a greater height. Excited to start incorporating it into my current builds and seeing future builds of what people can do. Great video summery, keep up the good work.

It most definitely lacked pizazz, I imagine it was pretty standard fare back in 2018 but it definitely shows its age now, this extension is a massive improvement tho. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Not bad, still I wish they'd include angled fencing so I could do more open walkway towers without it looking janky, that's one thing that all the sets really need imo.

Hi, I've never once used the Yamatai set, and I struggle to make it work within my game world. Something I would like to know is; Did Funcom make up the Yamatai culture, or did it already exist in REH's universe? Is there an in-game race that fits in with it with it? I like my builds to accent the character that lives there. I know it's based on Japanese builds, but who are the Yamatai exactly? As a side question, I couldn't really find anything on the other Bazaar addition "Gurnaki raiders" or whatever it was. Do you know anything about them? As usual, thanks for your opinions and honest appraisals of the Bazaar items. Much appreciated.

From what research I've done on it, Yamatai was not an original Hyborian Age country but appeared in a Savage Sword of Conan adaptation, but sounds like it's most definitely based on Japan. Seeing as it's such a seemingly under-developed concept, I guess Funcom wanted to build on it because they have a bit more freedom without spoiling the lore, plus feudal japan is always a great setting As for the Gurnakhi, some sources say they're sorcerous creatures created to serve the Hyborea, I think they show up the Dark Horse comics

hey man great review. i somehow completely missed the fact that this set didnt come with wedge pieces. is it me or does it seem like there has been an aversion to wedges lately? the lost dungeon set not having wedges makes it extremely difficult to work with when trying to build towers and i was disappointed to see no wedges in the extension

Yamtai's DLC is more like a Japanese Castle. This Yamatai bundle is more like a Temple, Home or Palace look.

The roof pieces suck. They should be more inline with Khitan but with Yamatai culture cause you can see this between Japanese, Chinese, Filipino and Thai buildings in real life so it is kind of dumb they did that upward flair to them
