I just went through the Laclede’s Landing Wax Museum in St. Louis. 90% of the figures he showed went there. It’s a truly unintentionally nightmarish experience going through that we museum with no music, black walls, floors, and ceilings, and minimal lights. Everything there is covered in dust. 1/10 will probably be having nightmares for the next week.

Wax figures have gotten SOOO much better over the last decade. I remember when I was living in LA from 2007 to 2008, I was impressed with the figures because at the time, they really were the best. Now, in 2019, though, the wax figures look pretty much EXACTLY like the actual person, just in a comatose state.

It's still upsetting, watching Conan's short-lived tonight show 10 years later. I was excited for him when I heard the news in 04, waited for him to start out, and it was exciting. I was a HUGE Conan fan from Late Night and used to only catch the tail end of Leno because as I grew up, I realized how lame Leno's jokes were. Conan was different- irreverent, irrelevant, unpredictable, self-deprecating and had a crack team of writers and personalities at Late Night - Max Weinburg, Joel Goddard, Brian McCann, Brian Stack, Demetri Martin, etc. not to mention all the great skits and characters he created- from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and the FedEx Pope to the Ghost Crooner and the Masturbating Bear. He used to get mentions on other late night shows of things he did on his, which is practically unheard of. NBC was SO stupid.
