Chemical engineers, and some type of electric engineer could be involved as well but industrial eng is the most focused on production. Chemists and Physicists could be involved as well. Any STEM major that teaches you about materials I think?

You'd likely have to have a bachelors in the STEM field and take on internships related to the sciences before getting a job at a place like this (and potentially have a graduate degree as well, depending on where you're applying.)
