The Communist and Christian concepts are largely the same. "To each according to needs" has been traced to the Book of Acts, which also says, "So the disciples determined, everyone according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea. The gospel of Matthew says: "To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, according to his ability." Moreover, the first Christian communities shared property and used cooperative labor.
