One important part to point out is the quality of the build on the Bike Erg by Concept2. The quality between this the BikeErg and a traditional spin bike feels like an Audi vs. a Toyota Corolla. It just feels a lot more solid and durable which would be a much wiser long term investment for affiliates or garage gym owners seeking to purchase a bike. Thanks for the content Jason, this is awesome.

This was the best of all videos on KZbin so far comparing the equipment on points that weren't superficial or totally subjective. Thank you for this so helpful

I've been considering one of the Concept 2 ergs. I wish more reviews were like this on KZbin. Really made you understand comparisons and perspective. Outstanding job, thanks!

Love this review. I am very familiar with spin bikes and I have been looking for a comparison. You did a great job with this and you have convinced me to go with bikeerg rather than a spin bike. The price is excellent too for a machine with ANT power/cadence.

Trying to decide between BikeErg and Peloton. Also looking at Stages bike, Keiser M3i and Nordic Track S22. I like them all for various reasons. For classes. Peloton. For scenic rides. Nordic Track. For bike experience. Stages and Keiser as a second option. For CrossFit training. Concept 2. What is your e petice with these bikes? Which one is your first choice?

Jason how would you compare the resistance between the spin bike and BikeErg? Could I use a bikeErg for spin class?

Awesome review. I have the echo bike, and the rower...do you think it’s still good to add the bikeerg or do you feel redundancy with this combo?

Question, how difficult is it to change difficulty settings on the BikeErg as opposed to a traditional spin bike? I do a lot of cycling and so I like having the ability to adjust the difficulty settings to simulate various environments. I enjoy traditional Concept 2 equipment (Rower/SkiErg), however it's not worth the effort to change the difficulty setting mid workout, unlike what I would do on a regular spin bike.

Jason, I like to pedal against very high resistance--where I must stop after 30-45 seconds, rest and repeat several times to build hypertophy in my legs. Would the BikeErg provide enough resistance to accomplish this or would I be better off with a bike with magnetic resistance like the Sole SB900 which is the same price?

Can you advise the difference between the Bikerg and Air Assault Bike, as far as same power input and calorie output, have a completion coming up that is using the Bikerg and my gym only has the Air Assault Bike so trying to figure out how they will compare for the workout, which is max calories in 60 sec, will the two be close to each other, or will one be much harder or give more calories with same input from user? Thanks!

Great review Jason, I'd like to see a review on the Rogue air bike vs the Assault bike! and which one you'd recommend?

You've got it nearly right. Just one more thing takes the C2 to another level is swopping out those stupid platform pedals for a pair of clipless, i use my road bike CrankBros Eggbeater 3s and road shoes. You are wasting pretty much 50% of you're energy 'paddling' the bike like a kid on an old bomber. The science goes like this: With those platform pedals you are actually applying pressure on the rising pedal just to keep the none working foot on it, at the same time as applying max power to the down pedal. You are working against yourself in an up down motion. Want proof how stupid it is...go on try peddling with one leg.!! With clipless you not only input max power on the down stroke but you are able to 'lift' with the other foot. Now try peddling with one leg. The correct, perfect technique for smooth power delivery and cadence on a bike is , forward..down level..pull back, heel slightly up...pull up..pull forward heel slightly up..then repeat. Both legs of course. Try it don't take my word for it. You will never ride a C2 bike or any other bike road or gym, ever again without them. Same goes for the rower way super to the silly straps that works loose or if not, are too tight over the inset. Now go and enjoy.
