I did unhoused outreach, before the last flood we sent teams to get people to move…most didn’t move…they got all new supplies. Some got multiple sets of supplies from each organization as there is no documentation or coordination. Going to get worse look to San Fran and Oregon they are shifting strategies….

Some of the homeless I have met in Westfield don't seem to have much interest in getting of the streets

@@mr.factoid105 yes that’s is my experience as well as the outreach workers. The big wigs on the zooms think it all starts with housing….if we give them housing with no expectations or rules they will get better🙄 Plenty of vids online to see what happens in these low or no barrier programs. I remember 20yrs ago seeing alcoholics collecting deposit cans along the road to get a couple tall boys. Today all they have to do is show up to one of these “recovery or harm reduction centers” and get handed gift cards, phones all the gear and food they want and just go back out to score….some of these harm reduction orgs like Taprestry let people use right in their bathrooms.

Morever, this is not a problem that can be solved with enforcement. These people are so detached from the housing crisis that they're acting like this is a pest control problem. What should we do about this problem? Oh, idk, maybe the state of Massachusetts could manage to create some affordable housing from a morsel of the 39.8 billion dollars in FY2023 tax revenue. No? Yeah, probably not...

How about all the people that have problems with homelessness maybe they should all try to donate some money to try to get all these homeless people off the streets.... Maybe they should try to help the city come to a solution instead of complaining about it and teaching their children that homeless people are scary or it's a problem know they're just a little unfortunate and don't have the money that some of you rich people have.... 😂 Yes it's sad to see it yes it sucks but instead of complaining about it maybe we should all be putting our heads together and figuring out a solution to try to help fix it and we should all be teaching our children that just because they're a little less unfortunate doesn't mean that they're bad people or scary people...
