HOW THE HELL DOES THIS GROUP JUST GET BETTER AND BETTER EVERY YEAR......I LOVE THEM SO MUCH

To the people commenting negatively, you are so missing it. Fleetwood mac is and was a treasure of the human race. How many artists can send chills down your spine, bring a tear to your eye, and fill you with anticipatory adrenaline like these. You have no idea what you are talking about. A genuine artist of this level feels each and every note that is released into the space around them. Music of this caliber is an excstatic drug that completely envelops you into the joining of music and all that exists into the beautiful moment in time when you are one with all. Music is the drug you fools... You will live forever Stevie.

"Music of this caliber is an excstatic drug that completely envelops you into the joining of music and all that exists into the beautiful moment in time when you are one with all." That's one hell of a line right there. I had to read that a few times to really take it in. Nice!

Their personal lives went to heck in a handcart, but it was always about the music, the performance, the stage and the fans. They overcame all of their baggage and just were and are professionals. No matter the breaks, break-ups, sorrows, pain it went into the music and became a testament to the amazing talent that always shared the stage with grace. I am a forever fan.

Not to be pedantic or argumentative, but I thought on this occasion I should take the time to drop a little comment, as several others writing here seem to have “missed the point." Stevie is probably not drunk here (she's a known teetotaller), and she is almost certainly not high or otherwise intoxicated, either. Nor was she having an off night, in my opinion. When Stevie performs this song, she (basically) acts the lyrics out, so as to better convey the story, channeling her much younger, then heavily drug-addicted self. When she wrote Gold Dust, she was in the depths of a (I think?) seven year-long cocaine addiction. She knew she was hopelessly dependent, she was uninterested in sobriety and balance and good health, and she had actually come to accept that, in all likelihood, the drugs would eventually kill her. (At least I'll die like Hendrix and Morrison and Janis Joplin, she remembers thinking.) That's why the lyrics are so fatalistic and defiant. Her hopeless, vacant expression is just another part of her performative style. And the unsteady gait is intentional, too.
@Graiskye10 жыл бұрын
Ya and Santa Claus and God really exist! Ill file that with myths of the modern age. You do not stay up for days on end doing cocaine and partying hard by being a teetotaler, the thought of it makes me laugh. The thought people believe her publicists statements are even funnier, Its called spin morons, how do you spin an alchoholic drug addict, you deny deny deny. Amy Whineheart ring any bells, no she didnt do dope, or drink for that matter. Denial only works for so long though. Yopur talking about a woman who used to go into panic attacks if she did not have cocaine on her person at all times. Ummm ya shes a teetotaler for sure. Maybe one day she will admit to herself that she is a junkie and an alcoholic, they say the truth sets you free.

Thank you Colin, I was there center stage that night & Stevie was most definitely NOT intoxicated. Luckily she's winning the battle of addiction. At 65 yrs old I think she is doing an AMAZING job!! This was the best night of my 35 yrs of life. And I'll be back there on the 25th to see them again. And Graiskye I'm started heroin at 17 & I still battle with it everyday,7 yrs clean but its still a battle, just please do us ALL a favor and STFU, like really. People like you make me sick. Can't even give the woman credit,when she is touring NON-STOP!!! 65 years old & performing 3 to 5 times a week!! You try doing that & being on stage for 4 hrs a night singing your heart out,then you can talk about it. Rock on Stevie!! I LOVE YOU!!!!
@nolanwinter22310 жыл бұрын
chrissyLee G I agree. Stevie isn't high. She's just a seasoned performer who knows how to work an audience very well. I to was an addict. I was addicted to pain killers for years. I've been clean for four. It's is a struggle. But one you can beat. Stevie is an inspiration. She's been though a lot and has come out of it with dignity and grace. I love her to. Best to you and thank you for sharing.

I've performed live with enough drunks/druggies---and sober jerks---to appreciate the difference between a good performance by a real talent, and an embarrassment. Since most of us here here were hanging with Stevie at this show, let us agree that this is simply an ass-kicking, mesmerizing performance, sober or not. You can see the difference between sober eyes and f*#ked up eyes, and if you look at the closeups, it's the former. If I'm wrong....well then THIS is how to perform properly when 'wasted'.:)

From what Ive learned, Stevie cleaned up her act some time ago and I would say her voice here conveys that classic tone that she is known for in her best studio recordings. The recording here is not so great but thats a different issue. In comparing her voice in this audio to some of the older live concerts on youtube when she was known to be using, her voice was all over the place in some of those. I think she is doing an excellent job here.
