Seen that happen before. I know an RTS that was gonna have a PS1 port, but it got cancelled before even being announced. Nearly 20 years later, the port builds and THE FULL SOURCE CODE of the game were found in a lot sale from Climax Group. The game was Urban Assault, from 1998.

Hey Luke how is nobody making the Bungie connection when it comes to Concord. Originally Bungie was a baking a "hero shooter" back in like 2017-2018 time frame. Bungie gets brought into Sony to also consult the live service direction. Under their specific direction they said TLOU Live Service game is "not ready" Shortly thereafter the game is canceled. I would not be shocked if Bungie was helping axe competition. Meanwhile their own game is flailing. Concord fails after being stopped in my opinion at Bungie. Which causes ex-Bungie devs to found Firewalk and continue Concord. These are just my speculations.

A prime example of truly innovative storytelling in live service games is Genshin Impact. It has some pretty insane main story quests and all of the characters are so well written! In the latest main story quest, we experienced a truly insane and dark all out war with a crazy finale that’s both epic and cinematic. Also every character in that game is so special! They’re all memorable and very well written with amazing voice acting! And the best part of all this is that it’s a free game! There are in game purchases but they’re completely optional and you don’t need to spend any money on the game to experience all that the game has to offer! Free game! 😊

Though you can spend money to improve your account, it’s a single player game with some co-op elements in it. It’s a gacha game yes, but it’s much more than that. There’s the massive open world with multiple nations as well as the story and lore. And with choosing which characters to go for, don’t concern yourself with the meta. Just pull for the characters that YOU want; that you’ll enjoy playing as. You’re provided with a way to tryout the characters that are featured in the gacha banners so that you can try them out and see if you like them before you attempt to get them. And if you don’t like it, that’s okay! It’s not for you and you won’t have wasted any money!

You can bet your ass that Jim Ryan was chased out and Sony is now not letting playstation run itself, the next step if this continues will likely be Playstation HQ heading back to japan and replacing every western suite with one from japan and if that doesn't work or if Sony decides to jump to the final conclusion Playstation might be split off from Sony and allowed to die by itself or sold off. Honestly The playstation brand probably has 4-5 years to change course back into being profitable and I mean actually profitable and not barely profitable where a change in the wind can put it in the red and it's gonna be tight I think, they still have too many live service games that they are really betting the farm on and it will be like year 4's game that seals playstation's fate. In my opinion they'd do best to quit porting their games to PC and double down on console exclusives. They need to believe in console exclusives again. They also need to sunset the playstation 4, this long term support they've seriously have given this console is pure insanity and they need to take a page from nintendo when it comes to ending support at a reasonable timeframe within a year to a year and a half after new hardware is released. That is plenty of a grace period to grant the customer to buy the new console. Lastly, I'd axe funding for the live service games in development, They're too volatile to bet your future on, as if alone concord was not proof enough to that and jump back to making good games with a start and a finish and a solid multiplayer that will naturally want people to come back because it's fun. Nobody actually cares about horizon but Killzone has a following still and you need to start pumping out your own FPS games because your sacred cow got bought out by Microsoft.... Lastly, "the message"'s volume is at a 8 right now in Sony games and they need to tone that down at the very least a 3. If the normal people can notice the message without thinking about it then you've done it wrong and I know blackrock wants their ESG scores high for funding but maybe blackrock needs to understand they're request are insanity.
