Concorde at Lanzarote

So beautiful, and such a long time ago. This plane was before it's time. Amazing. I was also in Lanzarote & saw it take off. Gives you a rush of adrenaline. About time we had some new kind of super plane ✈.

glad that you like the film. During my time as manager I traveled a lot , but I admit I always was jealous of my colleagues who were designated to fly Concorde. The only balm they gifted me the original Concorde silver cufflinks. I am sure you did enjoy traveling on Concorde. Now I do have a second domicile on Lanzarote, and during the winter I am there. Cheers

I used to watch these bad birds take off and land at JFK. I’d be off the end of the runway on a fishing party boat catching flounders. These planes were so loud, that when the pilots lit those engines for takeoff, We were over 2 miles away and all heads turned to watch…. Will never forget the sight and sound of the Concorde taking off right over our heads. It’s hard to describe how much louder than anything else those birds were, even the 747’s couldn’t compare in the slightest. Just remembering those days brings a smile to my face….👍🏻😁 ( thanks for the post)

I was in Lanzarote in Nov. '99 (honestly) on an 11 day Canary Islands/ Morocco cruise, but didn't know about a Concorde landing then! Was it because of an unplanned stop or what! Wish I had seen it!

just to answer it : The newspapers reported that at the time of the video, the Concorde was here on the island for the third time. As far as I understand it, this was a stopover with mostly older wealthy passengers, so that they could briefly explore the island. It was obviously intended to set up a regular flight schedule, but so far it has not come, to my knowledge. I was here on Lanzarote after November 1999 regularly and also longer, but I am sure, until the decommissioning, the Concorde was no longer here.
