Great video 👍….. is this the same engine as the zzr1400 or zx14 ? Thanks

Basically yes. I’m not sure about the head as to valves and cams but same package.

I had a ‘12 and broke the lock box perhaps the 2nd day I had it not realizing it was electronic. DOH! Actually made access more convenient for the 10 years I had the bike. Changing plugs and checking valves, I DO NOT miss!

Mine is problematic also. I just lube it with silicone and beat it with my fist occasionally. Then it complies.

Hi, Thank you for making these videos it's a huge help. I recently picked up a high miles 2015 Concours 14 in non running condition. Clutch is super hard to press and when shift from neutral to 1st gear it shuts off. Is there anyway I can email you for help? I don't know much about these machines but highly eager to learn. Best regards, Khan

Are there any special tools that help?
@MotoRestoFL Жыл бұрын
Yes. A set of small angled feeler gauges would help. Regular ones are more difficult to get a feel, but my main set I bent the tips at 45 degrees (approximately). Since, I have obtained a small set but it’s hit or miss whether they’ll work best on a particular engine due to clearance and general access. In other words some spots the small feelers work good others a regular set works better. So diversity and variety of tools available helps. Def need an inch lb torque wrench as well. And a good work light. It’s tight and dark in there. Cheers.

Did you finish it up any issues on startup
@MotoRestoFL Жыл бұрын
Of course. It's been on several out-of-state adventures since. No issues except it runs better and stronger, but that's likely because I did a throttle body synchronization (off-camera, it's impossible to video that, can't hardly see it myself). The TB balance was off a bit.

in 24 minutes you wasted 20 minutes on your humor, your dog, you life, past bad repairs, redundancy, is there a minimum time limit to making a youtube video? Painful shade tree mechanic opinions, and past life lore.

Ya know, perhaps you’re right. Why don’t you give me a link to your KZbin channel so I can benefit from your obvious superior knowledge and superior talent? Oh, that’s right. You don’t have one because it’s easy to bitch but hard to do. Isn’t it.
