Drove an old Ford concrete pump for the Busch Boys back in the 80's. The type of pump that could set for three years and randomly cycle the pump at any time (forgot the style of pump) the boss walks up to show us how to use the pump. First thing he did was stuck his foot in the flapper valve. The valve cycled and took his big toe off. In shock he looked at me and said "THAT'S WHAT YOU DON'T DO, take me to the hospital !" Then he only had nine more reasons- Gives a new meaning to the phrase one little piggy stayed home.

Thanks for the video man seriously. I operate a concrete truck with the conveyor belt on it. I’ve only been in it for like 6 weeks but I’m an operator at heart. U know what I mean. Being an operator is one of those things where if you got it, you got it and not everyone has it. I can run most heavy machinery, I worked for a paving company for a few years. So a big company I poured for the other day is trying to get me over there with them. The foreman told me they have a nice pump but no one to operate it right now, and they’re all union (I live in New Jersey) so I’m sure they can get someone out of the hall but idk 🤷♂️. He asked for my number and actually called me today and said his boss wants to call me and talk to me about going with them. So They actually ordered me again for tomorrow so I’m hoping all goes well. I’m with a teamsters union company but my dream is to be 825 operating engineers. I know I can pick up the pump quick but the video was awesome brother I really appreciate it. Thank you

I'm really curious on what kind of camera setup you use. The more I watch these videos, the more I think this would be kind of cool on our jobsites. I like doing timelapse videos but never thought of doing like a daily vlog. Do you use a hand grip/tripod or some sort of magnetic mount?

I'm kinda surprised the boom doesn't have a magnetic sensor switch to let you know the gravity hook has engaged and locked in place. It'd be a relatively cheap item to make and install along with wiring it into the trucks on board remote control computer. And having a warning light on the remote control itself. We had all kinds of sensors like that on Coast Guard Sikorsky helos. One ya really wanted to pay attention to was the tail wheel lock sensor or you'd end up wearing a miniature version painted red around your neck when you started to tug move one and the entire Airstation heard that really loud Ping thunk and know you'd just pissed off the Helo shop Chief. Ya got to wear it till the next nimbnuts did it. Usually a month or two. Those friggin sensor lights had a tendency to fail at the most inconvenient time.

Awesome vid. And now I know what they're doing when they're playing with that remote when I've watched them being used at construction sights here in Miami. At one time I counted 47 skycranes in the downtown Miami area. I call it Manhattan South these days. They not only use these trucks. They use them in conjunction with cement elevators now instead of the old concrete dump buckets. Darn D.P. Mike. He's got me hooked on another channel. That makes 5 I think. Of course it's saving my sanity during the lockdown us high risk types are going thru thanks to that orange idiots inept handling of the Pandemic.

@ 4:12 it's not a rabbit but a hare (i know, it's close, but it's in reference to the tale of the hare and the turtle, according that, hare is way more faster than the turtle (and since that a hare look like very likely to a rabbit, that's why we got these pictogrammes on every stuff with variable speed))
