Always a good time with the Canadian concrete pumper. Quite possibly the most interesting concrete pump truck operator in the world 🌎 pump on my friends 😂

passing this on from guys that taught me. whenever you don't have enough to recirculate and its taking off like that. pump down and suck a ball back. take your sponge out and put some water in your prime port and reverse it. that way everything in your cylinders is getting wet and the boom is clean. you can sit there a little longer knowing that your boom is clean. had to do this a couple of times and I would definitely recommend. especially when you cant recirculate on those really tight jobs.

That is a great technique, and on that I often use when recirculating is not an option. The only negative; in my opinion, is that the mud sitting in the hopper and S-tube can have a tendency to cake up and make for a shittier washout at days end. Definitely does have its advantages as well though. Such a situational trade which we work in. Great comment 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

@@canadianconcretepumper1979 with some delay set like you have, it would make the world of difference. in my case, we aren't even allowed sugar on our pumps. so you have to stay on top of your mud. luckily we don't normal wait more than a hour for mud and we don't have hot mixes so we can get away with it if we pay attention ha. no sitting in the cab and hope it will move lol

Unfortunately this probably happens once a week during the summertime here. It takes forever to get our tag from some companies. The video where I’m putting the trailer pump back together Bills in the background chiseling the hopper of our 38m. Great advice in this one.

With how wild peeps get with the hot water and accelerator additives around here in the winter time, we almost deal with this more now through March than we do in the summertime. This was definitely one of the more “wild” loads of concrete I’ve seen in awhile 😂

Same in California, pretty interesting how we all have a different name for the last load of concrete. Always fun watching other pumpers doing their work, can always learn something new to try

Good stuff brother! Think I’ll stick to the ole line pumping for now! I said to myself I said self he’s about to lose this mud! Then out came the Sweet “N” Low! lol! I know guys that just dump a couple Mountain Dew drinks in their hopper. Wild stuff man. These folks around here wouldn’t let me near a job if they seen a bag of sugar on my truck but I would have washed out and re-primed. They’d just have to pay a bit extra because I ain’t letting that junk setup in my pump. Kudos to you though! Great video .

Great video. Do you lift the boom out of the cradle during washout out of necessity or convieniance?
@canadianconcretepumper1979
@canadianconcretepumper1979 9 ай бұрын
On this pump I usually just strap the lid open to the boom and leave the boom in the cradle, which gives me about 80% access to inside of the hopper. When it’s going to be a semi-crappy washout like this one, I’ll lift the boom out of the cradle so that I can get the lid opened up all the way and have easier access to bar out the hopper.
@andrewherbert5043
@andrewherbert5043 9 ай бұрын
Gotcha. My 36z has to come out of the cradle to flip the grate. We have a 38 rz that you can flip the grate with the boom in the cradle but requires some contorting on the operators part to access everything with the boom cradled. 👍
@canadianconcretepumper1979
@canadianconcretepumper1979 9 ай бұрын
That’s another thing which I love about this 38-5 Putz, when washing out, the boom does not need to come out of the cradle. With our 36/40 the boom would overhang the hopper and thus had to be lifted every time to washout., same as your 36 it sounds like.

I would be extremely nervous to pore mud that “ nuclear meltdown stuff” I don’t mind laying down a hot batch as long as There is no structural bearing walls. I am noted for turning back loads of hot mud for weight bearing walls… on the floor, sidewalk patio? Take a chance…. That Whoops’ee would have really sucked had you not had another pore down the road and you would’ve had the pump completely cleaned out and washed up. Laughing, somebody dropped the ball on that other side of the house they forgot … But I do have a question . Is that hopper solid enough to put a pair of rollers on the bottom? My dove tail trailers. I have installed long rollers at the back under them so if I do bottom them out instead of dragging it, basically rolls…. but I’m not sure if that hopper would take the weight of the pump truck. But is an idea suggestion.. I have three dovetail trailers that pull in and out some nasty job sites and steel rollers have saved countless hours of Jack and blocking and tow truck calls

Thought crossed my mind, but wasn’t in the mood to attempt my first “suicide-prime” on the re-prime. With the pump setup on the roadway, simply dumping the water-washed hopper in place wouldn’t have been an option. I can get over the $1.25 worth of sugar expended during this operation 😂
