I worked as a concrete carpenter for 30+ years; always had very high respect for the technical skill and the pure, raw strength and endurance of concrete workers. Seen a LOT of concrete work. Gotta tell ya - if I needed a concrete job I would use your company, sir! You and your guys went WAY beyond the norm in creating a beautiful finished product. Hope the homeowner sees this response... (Edit: I've never before seen corners "flaired-off" as you did; beautiful touch!)

Very well done. You brought back buried memories of a project in the summer of 1970 my Squad did in Vietnam: hand digging, forming, hand mixing, pouring and troweling about 290 square feet 4" thick for an addition to one of our buildings. The bump out was never completed as the Division was withdrawn that fall. Makes my back ache just thinking about it. You guys are truly professionals.

That finished smooth border around the brushed squared off area is really a sharp look. I saw the video you did of the backyard pool area and then you showed the driveway you did a few years earlier, it had the same style as this small driveway, but 10x's the size and it is absolutely beautiful! These homeowners are going to be the envy of their neighbors ... nice work!

Look up 'Drain Addict' if you really want to become hooked on watching something that you would never think would be interesting! You guys are awesome a lot of companies wouldn't have put the time into making the joints perfect like you did that is a beautiful drive and I love how you already know that the corners need joints or they will crack and sink most guys know that it will happen but don't do anything about it simple triangle or they use a concrete saw for the joints and no expansion foam this is top notch worksmanship you don't find it much these days

@@VinnieVega lol back in the day, the company I worked for was the first one's to use the front=enders in a 4 state region, because of the rarity of them I averaged 14 to 16 hr days, traveled in all Eastern Idaho, Northern Utah, western Montana & Wyoming, Flat work around these areas were pretty basic up to the late 80's then people started demanding better quality of workmanship. So I guess your quality of workmanship which by today standards maybe as you say is not the top 1% but compared to the stuff I'd seen in the 70's and 80's you'd be in the 1% rating. But mix designs have come a long way also. You and your crew still did a fantastic job!

Beautiful work, it's nice to see people work together and have pride in what they do. Something that served me well was "Never get between anything moving, and something solid". It could be a crane load and the ground, truck and a wall, manlift and a ceiling. All that was missing was an Amazon Prime van driving up on the wet concrete to deliver something, or kids putting their initials in the concrete(Do people still do that?)!!

My only gripe, is that the subsurface wasn’t prepared. We all know that time and possibly money is always the issue. But where something has settled, just bringing it back to grade with more stone isn’t a fix. A new, real, compacted base should have been installed. After seeing a lot of concrete flat work being placed in over 20 years as an inspector on Civil projects, nice to see people who take pride in their job. You folks do nice work. It's a shame it will be covered up by parked cars. Something to consider if this job will see large seasonal fluctuations in temperature. The following are very rough numbers. Concrete will expand about 5/8" per 100' over 100 degree temperature change. While this might seem small when considered for smaller areas, that repetitive expansive force over time can do damage. If the concrete is continuous under the joint material, the concrete can not expand into the joint as it has nowhere to expand except to the outer edges. It might be a good control joint to better control cracking, but it won't act as an expansion joint (EJ). If you want to have a true EJ, the joint material must completely separate the concrete full depth. For this narrow of driveway that is unconfined to the sides, not much of an issue. It has room to expand. Those deep control joints should prevent shrinkage cracking. But if the distance between the house and the curb is over 20', a full depth EJ would best be installed. It looks like an EJ was installed against the house, which is also a great idea. If concerned about differential settling at EJs, it is best practice to cut the rebar spanning the joint to allow for the intended horizontal movement and put in slip dowels across the joint.
