Tom, you and your crew are real professionals and I have not seen concrete poured like your crew does. They worked so close together and like a well oiled machine, everything falls into place and the driveway looks great. I like the detail you put into every pour, nothing is left undone.

At 9:19, the previous pour was poured so the the next didn't leave a thin sliver of concrete. Very smart and very well thought out joint layout. Great video and awesome job guys!

Great job Tom & crew... I found your channel through Mike & Melissa's channel on the pours you did for them recently...I thought the " unwanted " guest was going to be a over friendly dog mucking up the works! One solution I've seen when rain is coming is to build portable cape style frames out of 2 x 4's or whatever you got on hand & top the frame with plastic sheets stapled in place...I know an old duffer up my way that builds garages from the concrete pad up, often times he'll use the roof trusses as temporary frames to cover 24 X 24 freshly poured pads as protection from the elements, i.e. rain or snow. It works & him & his crew get to go home after a hard days work... Bill on the hill, Vermont... :~)

The brooming is easier than you think. Patience goes a long way. I used to help my dad do concrete patios and walkways around say 6th grade to 8th grade during the summers. The first time is scary since it was his business and reputation on the line I was representing but you get a feel for it and get into the flow. He'd keep an eye on me and tell me what to change if he didn't like how it was coming out.

Yes! I did concrete for 30 years. You guys do it right!!! I love the tooled in joints instead of saw cuts. Your subgrade is perfect, I can see grade, I have the eye for it. Perfect, perfect, perfect!! Diving the joints in at an angle on the circumference is is the correct way. The only thing I would do is put #4 rebar in the concrete. One day I was wondering how they label #4 #5 ect ect rebar then it hit me!! 4 eights of an inch 1/2 in, 5 eights of an inch is 5/8 in rebar. I guess I had a flash back.
@GunpowderandFreedom3 жыл бұрын
Is that really how they came up with the numbering system for rebar?! I’ve always wondered that hahaha thanks for watching!

@@GunpowderandFreedom I googled the number system for rebar, ole Goober figured it all on his own. And how do you like this one, When your boys stayed up late ask them if they know why the need to go to bed, Answer, the bed won't go to you!!! hahaha I miss my smart @ss concrete co workers!!!
