Started watching you a few weeks ago. I think your team is awesome and seriously your work is hands down the best I have ever seen. I must admit you really do talk too much but I know you want to explain the process which you are very thorough. I admit I notice you are very involved which I commend your. You appear to be the type to have to have the last word as I notice you are constantly making reminders to your staff. I mean no harm at all but with just retiring from banking and many many meetings, deadlines, putting out fires and the list goes on but please do not loose site your workers are dedicated, they know what they are doing but you really need to at times to take a back seat. They do not need to be baby set. Remember you like all are aging and I'm sure your sons will take over the business. Just breath because at the end of the day it is going to be ok and your business is already well established and your reputation goes without saying. STOP BEING SO OVER BEARING. North Carolina.

Love to see Steve's reaction to dad's slow explanation of mixing the sealer! Now Steve, you need to realize that a big part of the "middle aged man" syndrome is to explain and teach! I agree with some of the other commenters that the editing / production is getting better and better. Your daughter is handling that part, right? A few more kudos there wouldn't hurt!

The old days of barking orders have been over. turn over rate is crazy anymore ppl will quit for any reason or try and get fired so they can collect unemployment. 3/10 ppl work out for what I’m tryin to build a strong unit where everyone comes take pride in there work and build you up so you could be your own boss if you wanted to but pay them enough so they don’t. Cause I want to be able to groom a crew to work and let them go do work and work on next crew but mostly 35 and under age group are ether late everyday and do bare minimal. But I want to be able to be 50 and be able to take it easy and enjoy things much more.

With all due respect, all the angle driveway joints will NOT hold up at all, in our neighborhood and another close by, the developer had to come in and replace every single one of them. Although they were done by various contractors, the driveway corners started breaking up because of the small angles not holding up after a couple of years, especially when the homeowners had large pickup trucks. The city has now banned them completely. They simply fail after time.

You can't do driveway corners like that anywhere around here now. 10 sq ft. Is the MINIMUM for any section that makes contact with the street in almost every city around here. The reason is that if the sub grade fails, Even with rebar, and a tire runs over the joint, there's not enough surface area to prevent the corner from raising up potentially causing damage and endangering pedestrians. They simply won't allow any diagonals that small at all. I understand the reason why you do it, but you put a lot of faith in the dirt work not failing

The small concrete sections will fail and start breaking up if the owner has f250 and larger trucks. Happened here

Pretty much exactly what the contractor clown told one of my sisters and brother-in-law, when theirs started failing, that my brother-in-laws pick up was to big...what? What the contractor failed to mention was, they didn't use near enough compacted stone, zero rebar in those areas, and no expansion joint material against the street, all of which they found out from the much better professional contractor that fixed it. It's been over five years now with no problems. Oh, and the original concrete clown company is no longer in business!!

TOM, likin the 'star design' cuts off the front porch! (It's too bad the electric meter was placed in the front alcove, takes away from the look of curb appeal. BUT...your work doesn't!!!) Good stuff

I was opening the tool cut up to force the crack to follow the tool cut. Cracks always happen off hard corners like that so this helps to insure the crack will follow the tool cut. Thanks for watching!

@@GunpowderandFreedom I knew the answer would be something reasonable, but I kinda like the idea of taking out some frustrations on the cement and stabbing it. Lol.
