Hands down my favorite video about the situation LMAO The positive change in my mood since this event is substantial, UHC nearly financially devastated me in 2015 after my motorcycle accident from a drunk driver hitting me, having me temporarily paralyzed on my right side for months - I’ll never forget the feeling when they were actively fighting against the doctor’s treatment plan for my nerve damage, and even tried denying a follow up surgery because the break in my arm was close to the radial nerve and if they didn’t go back in and do something my arm would permanently fuse in a 90 degree angle. I was 17 at the time, and hearing the potential of being responsible for the bill had me fully breaking down and genuinely begging with them to just kill me instead, I wish my family didn’t have to go through that either and feel that weight because none of us would’ve been in a position to take on a bill like that, if I remember correctly with the ambulance, and at the end of my first round of surgeries with about a month in the hospital had a grand total north of $500k I say all of this because my story is far from the worst out there and there’s an innumerable amount of victims affected by these monsters in the insurance industry. So seeing the deep and seething hatred we all have had for this insurance company actually come to fruition is so relieving. Not a single executive has or ever will lose a second of sleep because of the people they directly choose to let suffer for the sake of profit, so you bet your ass we will never offer them a sliver of empathy or understanding.

Couple of things to note. 1) The "depose" shell casing was actually in reference to the third part of the strategy Brian Thompson put forward during his time as CEO. Deny the claim, defend the company, depose the client. That means that they would drag out legal proceedings until the the client ran out of money for legal fees, gave up and/or died. 2) The mono-archy that you're talking about is just neo-feudalism. Imagine companies as countries, headed by powerful families except intensely more technocratic, utilizing technology to both heighten their standard of living and ensuring that the lower classes remain with the worst. For the best example of this, I'd recommend reading a comic called Lazarus by Greg Rucka and Michael Lark.

@@loslingos1232 what if the authorities and our government aids and abets these serial killers? Do we just turn away and be good serfs? Sometimes the serfs need an uprising to overthrow the overlords. If you think that the working class are not serfs, you don't see the big picture. We are slaves to this system and forced to conform for our survival. We are forced to pay taxes that are ill used. The harder and longer hours you work, the more they take. We are forced to pay all different types of insurance. Please don't get me started on the banking industry and the stock markets controlling the price of each of our needs and wants. The system is rigged against us. They lull us all with distraction. The media is there to enforce their goals. Keep us all divided and hate and blame the other, just so we don't all work together and tear their empire down. All of the British nations and former colonies seem to be based on this structure. Would anybody be talking about Health Insurance policies now if he hadn't been killed? And let's talk about how many people he allowed to die so he could make more money for his shareholders. Not to make too fine a point of it, but UnitedHealthcare made a profit of $32.4 billion last year. Not revenue, but PROFIT. The CEO's salary was $23.5 million, increased from the year before, because he significantly increased the profit of the company. I guess squeezing every last drop of money from the general public and then denying their claims, to then funnel it to the top 1% really pays. So forgive me and the rest of us for... if not applauding his death, exactly, but feeling absolutely no pity for him or his family. In a sense, he was as bad as any drug dealer on the street; selling poison to adults and children so he can buy a bigger car. Turning his back on the devastation he was causing thousands of people so he could increase his already rich shareholders more profit.

In a vacuum I one hundred percent agree with you. However in practice and how politics works it really isn't this simple. As much as I don't want to make it a right vs left issue the fact is that Republicans were the ones who are voting against positive change in healthcare. How many Republicans think that Obama care is bad and that it should have been removed and replaced while Trump or his administration still does not even have a plan or replacement for it. Elon Musk with his fake little agency given to him by Trump wants to cut funding from the VA by 119 billion making it the largest funding cut than any of their other proposed cuts combined. Isn't the right supposed to be the party that cares the most about veterans? This fanciful idea that Republicans are just as upset about healthcare is not real. UnitedHealthcare was especially bad with their coverage yes. However let's not pretend like Republicans have gone to bat for better healthcare legislation when that isn't the case. The saddest part of all is the people who benefit from the ACA and don't even know that they do while being in support of Trump or Republican lawmakers when they say that they want to get rid of the ACA.

Seriously. This was his best video yet. I'm constantly being told to put my ideas down (THAT AREN'T EVEN RADICAL) because I need to "play by the rules" and "follow the system". I'm constantly being made guilty and put to shame because I want something to happen. And I know that just about 99% of this planet feels the same way. It genuinely does give me hope that people are losing it- it makes me feel less alone and I know that's weird but I also know that other people feel the same way. Whatever happens happens. But one thing's for sure, at least I know that I'm not the only one that's fed up with a broken fucking world.

It's honestly pathetic. What the cable news networks and mass media outlets offer is the informational equivalent of junk food. I've seen in my recommends recently a vid from LAST YEAR from NYT about this issue in healthcare. The "More Perfect Union" channel here on YT also did a vid specifically about UHC's abusive practices one year ago. Also credit where it's due, I have noticed one other vid in my recommends on this topic from another medium-fame news outlet that was from 8 months back, though now I don't remember what paper or channel it was. But did the topic have huge nation traction by getting blasted out on FOX? MSNBC? CNN? So far I have not found evidence of it, or if they did no one remembers that. What FOX or CNN or had everyone's eyes glued to back then, idek. So instead of them you can find just a smattering of coverage here or there, and not enough that everyone would be talking about it. One of the most notable is a supposedly left-leaning newspaper that since then has lost cred, plus another outlet that was also on the "second tier" in terms of reach ... plus the smaller and more indie groups that are still out there trying to do real investigative journalism on minimal budget (that mostly only get viewed by people putting in effort to look for that kind of reporting in the first place!) The US population shows massive unifying outrage on the issue with this one CEO's death, but the only news that showed up before all this happened looks like it was some leftists and smaller groups at best.

@maryjaneshoe-fm4yr That is a valid argument. However, I would argue that if this never happened. The chances of that lawsuit being anything other than a minor inconvenience for them would have been exponentially higher! Now, there is a microscope on all of those corporations. To make an actor or state make a decision or action that they otherwise wouldn't have made. He demonstrated that the common person still has power.
