Really notice when someone has axe experience or is learning the axe. The foot placement choices and balance really show up. Also note that there is no stupid lanyard loop on the chopper, I know some people love them, but for me, if my hand gets so tired swinging a large hunk of razor sharp material that I lose grip, the last thing I want is for it to come back swinging past my legs.

@christophermetz15509 жыл бұрын
+PREPAREDMIND101 One recommendation about spinning blades; keep your fingers (all of them) closed around the handle. It requires more wrist flexibility but if that blade touches anything as you're spinning it there is a good chance it's going to slip right out of your hand. Check out how Kali folks swing their sticks. We don't ever take our fingers off the grip because damn near all control goes out the window. Do what you want, but just a word of caution from someone that had to learn this the hard way (fortunately with a bamboo stick and not a machete LOL).

Well, machetes sure are great for daily work in South America countryside but sure for very large trees you'd need either a proper axe or a saw. For clearing brush and branches on the way as well as small trunks this thing sure fits the bill.

I always say equip for your environment. I would take a machete, even a massive machete, over an axe almost 100% of the time. However, I don't know that I would call this a Machete. I am sure it's great for around the house, or car carry-in camping, but realistically this would add a ton of weight for a hike-in. Still it is indeed awesome looking, and wouldn't mind owning one! As always PM thanks for the vid!

when u chop reist the urge to chop upwards to make a v notch,this is dangerous and if teh blade glance it will com straight at you,just keep cutting from up an make it in steps....you get same effect....this is also how you do it with an axe...make half a v then chop higher up...making a step cut...i also find that removing some of the shoulder on condors grinds helps with gett less glance blows and more biting blows,dont need much material removed but its sloppy safe grind from factory.
@preparedmind10110 жыл бұрын
That may be... But in 20+ years playing with toys like these I've never hit myself like that. Maybe I'm just lucky. Or maybe the 2D screen always makes it look more dangerous than it is. People tell me all the time "I almost hit myself" and I'm like "Uh....no."

I have one for my bag. I hate Condor sheaths. They suck honestly as a quick grab sheath and I had a custom sheath made from a local maker. He made it for the wrong hand and I won't use him again but I didn't want to wait for a new one since the first took forever. I need a good kydex ambi sheath for mine and I think I may have to just make one myself. The Discord is an excellent all around woods tool though and useful defense weapon in one.
