I love this sort of general overview with so many models out in front of us. You can really get a sense of scale for each one. Nicely done video gents.

I think condor has the most beautiful machetes how does the steel and edge hold ?
@ThrobbingChomboni Жыл бұрын
@@trufflesufflephatboy3437 the edge retention is pretty good. The weight and thickness of the blade make it a little tougher to put the best edge on ( not like running over one of those 20 buck cheapo jobs with a half ass sharpener and getting it cleaned up quick) The blade length is nice, the weight is beefy and you know you won't end up shattering or bending it ,and it also comes with a nice leather sheath that has a belt loop swivel in it I'm going to pick up the Cold Steel Barong and see how it fares against the condor,but I can't recommend the Condor Barong enough

@@ThrobbingChomboni hell yea bro, you would you recommend honing the factory edge of like my tramontina's and cold Steel, in cold Steel I have the bolo and panga, my mother got me the panga you get to shaving hair soooooo easier, well I hope that barong brings you fun and enjoyment brother 😎
@ThrobbingChomboni Жыл бұрын
@@trufflesufflephatboy3437 you recommend the bolo? I really like the the shape and sheath the Schrade bolo has, plus the price is really nice. I've been looking at some custom stuff on EBay and I'm gonna replace the parang I gave away to a family member. ExGhurka Kukri House has some nice in-between blades. I got a HEAVY kukri with the more shallow bend and you can't beat it in most categories. Also, if you really dig thee Barong shape and can still find one I highly recommend the Blackhawk Tatang. It's my favorite blade in my collection. Cheers bro!

I'm a machete noob but I really like the quality look of Condor products. What would you suggest for general camping application 4 seasons in northern Canada that could also do brush clearing and trail clearing. Any advice appreciated.

The last one on the right, it is called the Bush craft parang it has been a woodsman favorite for over 20 years now. Convex grind cuts deep can be used almost like an axe. It has a molded handle that will never come loose, is light enough to use for hours. good for splitting wood, clearing brush, made at a great angle for chopping. I love mine. A lot of these other ones have a thicker heavier blades that will kill your wrist in no time. That and they have a less sharp grind to them, I love the convex grind of the bushcraft. Just my 2 cents 60yrs old and have been using blades for most of my life.

i just had bout the condor machete...im more impresded by the sheathe leather casing...the smell of the leather & double thickness of it & the stitch & button design makes u aporeciate it all the more....im giving myself a like on that cuz i had to put some thought n2it....they consider it a two handed machete...but i still look @ it as one handed ..gives u room to slide ur grip dwn abit when swinging @ yaupon bushes...(i hate those)...but it does have caffine properties that im just now aware of....i went off on a tangent...mybad...& the wood grip is smooth that u dont need any gloves to use it....which is a plus...& the thickness of the blade keeps it from bein woobly...& i tnk there r a few rune slots for it aswell to give u like +10 focus & agility...

Tips on parang lenght selection. Fighting: When held against arm it shouldn't go past your elbow. Utility: When held downward shouldn't go lower than ankle. When I was a kid I sliced 3 of my toes. Yes we jungle walk barefoot.

@W_H_K Жыл бұрын
Unsure what they claim but you can put a nail through it and attach it to a block of wood and use it like a leaver if you have a lot of simple but repetitive work to do. Some knives have the same feature for exactly this purpose.

Man I would be awesome if Condor bring back the Barong Machete and it wqs probably the best of its type and especially for the price at that time . Good collection those are heavy duty machetes and not just brush clearing blade ,but for clearing brush you want anlight weight machete. Thise are very good quality by Condor Knife & Tool. ⚔️💯⚔️ 🤺
