CONE 6 KILN OPENING # 9 DRIPPY MUGS

Here is another video of a kiln unloading of mugs of different colors. For me, kiln opening is the most enjoyable part of pottery, however, it can be also the most disappointing. I end up losing 1-5 pieces due to different reasons such as, pinholes, too much glaze that ran to the bottom of the mug, or simply i don't like how the color turned out.

We were able to grind some but we lost the 2 cenote ones that were really bad😢

Beautiful! What kind of kiln wash do you use that it’s black?

We are using advancer kiln shelves so we are not using any kiln wash.

Wow..beautiful..how many coats do u put on for the underglaze and what brush..I have used speedball black and not much success

3 coats and we use a fan brush from amazon, can't remember the name as the markings faded

How far you put the underglaze outside,till the rim or less?🤗 nice mugs

It's not up to the rim, you can see where the other glaze combination meet, it has a very slight overlap.
