Conext SW 4024 default charger settings. 90AMPS WOW

Default settings had this guy pulling 90 amps. I was not ready for this and neither was the small thin strand 4 gauge wire. Here is a quick how to change the settings for the Max charge rate.

I have a question for you. It looks like youre in a shed or little power station you set up. It is similar to I plan to do. For the AC side of the SW, does the AC input and out put come from the same subpanel?

On the inverter itself if it says AC input that is coming from your mains AC subpanel coming from your utility provider. If you do not have a utility provider for your AC and only use a generator this is where you would hook up the generator to run as your main power until it runs out. Now the AC output on the inverter goes to a subpanel for everything powered by the inverter. When they inverter is in normal operation it runs from the main utility company AC to a sub panel for my shed and from that sub panel I run to the AC input on the inverter and then if there are any power issues from the utility company on the main AC input then the inverter will automatically switch to powering itself from the battery bank and disconnect the main AC input so no power back flows into the power grid and shock some worker or somebody. It happens so fast that the lights do not even flicker. (20ms I believe was the switching speed). The AC output from the inverter is connected to a sub panel that is not the same as my input subpanel, it is output from the inverter only and powers everything I want during a power outage. My Lithium array requires a 2amp charge. What should my "Max charge rate" % be set to? The 100% being 90A sounds extremely high. Thanks!

I have 400 amp hours worth of storage at 24v and I have my charge rate at 40%

Hi. Just got my 4024 yesterday.and mounted it. is there a setting where it can automatically change from solar to another source of current, utility in my case, when it reaches a low DC voltage? Thnks.

Yes there is a way to set the charger to automatically come on when the voltage drops below a specified voltage. Look up recharge voltage and set that. You also need to set up your charger and your charge block for when you do not want the charger to run like during in the day or you can turn charge block off setting the same time.

@@KPKev that is if i have the conext mppt charger am i right? The thing is that i have an outback flexmax 80 connected to the solar array. Some one told me that if i dont have the conext mppt charger i cannot set it. Is it true?

Anyone else getting a .5v difference between a voltmeter on the battery and the SCP? .5 is 20% of my battery. Thanks in advance.

I get roughly the same thing, I don't count on the SPC for an exact measurement of the battery but I do use it to set the settings taken into account the difference of the two and compensate as needed so the battery isn't improperly drained.

Can someone please explain the difference between Combox and SCP? And can I configure my SW inverter with one?

The SCP is just a way to change settings on the Context SW. The combox is just a web browser and shows the details of the system. You can also change settings remotely via the combox. Do know that every time the power resets or is turned off and then turned back on the combox it will reset the network address on the box and you will have to get it again. The SCP is a set it and forget it. The combox is a browser interface with settings.

@@KPKev thanks! One more question... How can I make the SW inverter communicate with a 60-150 MPPT? Is that possible? Do you prefer the scp over the combox if we have power cuts in our region?

@@kosanrachid7417 The Mppt must be xanbus compatible. If you have lots of power cuts and do not need to remotely monitor the system then I would get the SCP if you need to remotely monitor the system then I would spend the extra money and get the combox

@@kosanrachid7417 yes then install a Terminator on the other ethernet ports and the system will automatically recognize the new devices and you can see them in the SCP menus
