That octogonal thing with bent stud is a storm shingle fastener. Nice hunt. Never seen a Burnside bullet.

The cap you called green is the top from a recover oil can that came with the colts during civil war.

I don't know much about Civil War bullets, are Burnside rounds rare?

Chris great digs and sounds like your yard hoppin again! Sorry to disappoint you but the Burnside is a Union round/ riffle not confederate. Here is a link with some information www.civilwar.si.edu/weapons_burnside.html. Keep diggin, looks like there should be a whole one there!

ErlefromVa not a yard and its a spot that the cofederates used as a hospital after a battle most likely captured from what I read
