I understand but as Americans, there is a reward for hard work. Unfortunately, the juice is not always worth the squeeze in other places. And people can get desperate. With that said, a friemd of mine was taken for $400 less than 2 days after chatting with a filipina. At first I laughed at him but then realized the real issue is that women often have no choice. 😔

Hmm, being a fan of Pea, I tend to disagree here. I think there's room for improvement when it comes to her interview skills. I saw too much uneasiness with the topic and nonverbal bias, too many closed questions, and too often repeating the answer of the interviewee. I like the epilogue much better than the actual interview.

Magandang Umaga (Gabi for you) Ms. Pea. Another great video segment on a hard hitting subject. My heart goes out to "Mary" (obfuscated name to protect the innocent). She is very brave. So alone in this harsh world; parents passed away when she was 2 yo and they themselves being so young; raised by her grandmother who is now in the hospital; no means of money and already on the fringe with no electricity. I can't even imagine being in such a situation.... And her love for her grandmother, who is in the hospital, being greater than her fear and shame for doing something just to cover hospital expenses. Your "Mary" is a brave soul and I hope she finds a path to a better life... and hope you MS. Pea can help her find a path. This video segment gives me even more reason to count my blessings and to not take for granted any of the small gifts in life. I wish you continued success with your channel and hope you can touch the lives of many like "Mary" to help them to a better life. This really breaks my heart Pea. This all started when her only living relative that raised her was hospitalized. I have to say that personally, I think she made the least harmful choice. Since she's not opening herself up to pregnancy, disease, or violence. I think the bigger problem comes after Grandma's needs have been met, now she knows she can continue this for easy money. As a Foreigner, I would say that I could accept someone who did this cam work over a scammer or a call girl. Hopefully she can open that small business and things get better for her in the future.

As demeaning as this activity is at least she is safe from assault, disease and pregnancy. She is inadequate tough spot. I don't know if she has the skills but maybe you can train her for a call center job or something. I'm sure you are on it. 😘

@@montebrown9528 I think 3 times a month is all the demand she gets. If she earns 10,000 for 3 hours work it's very high hourly wage. Considering a call center person working night shift to be on Western time makes 240$ a month.

Thanks for the latest home truths Pea, this is another example of behind closed doors stuff that is more common than many people realise. Poverty and desperation, can make people do desperate things that they wouldn’t do by choice. Prostitution, theft, robbery all are common in poor countries. The girl has been forced to make a choice, she isn’t scamming anyone or hurting anyone. To be honest, I look down more , on the people who scam her out of her money by not paying. Before anyone judges people there, think what you would do if you had no savings, no job/ income no government assistance, and no food. Well done again Pea, for educating the privileged, to the plight of the disadvantaged.

Hello Pea from Australia, i have been married to my Filipina wife since March 2020 when she visited me for the first time after my many trips to the Philippines. We met online on the online dating app Filipina Cupid a couple of years ago. I had a number of girls on that site using it as platform to lure men into paying for cam shows. I did not engage in the service, but did talk with some of them on what's app via video. I actually sent some money to two of them that had children and I could see the poverty they were living amongst. Anyway I recently discovered your KZbin channel and instantly subscribed and admire your approach to the topics you cover, the best Filipina vlog I have seen by far. Anyway I'm no expert but I feel blessed to have met my girl, that has her own home and we are now half way through building another in her Village where I will live in the near future. Many foreign men in search of a wife or girlfriend from the Philippines are running blind in the beginning and sometimes get taken advantage of, but I don't mean in a totally dishonest way every times. Then the bad stories and opinions about Filipino women are written in comments and other vlogs. I am yet to see a family unit in western society that has the unconditional love and dedicated caring in the majority of Filipino families, rich or devastatingly poor. I've seen a lot in my travels around the Philippines. I am not biased, just have a deep respect for the huge number of humble and decent people, young and old throughout your country. One last thing, my wife never asked for money ever even during our dating period, but now I'm broke!!!. 😂 By the way Pea, i have a business I would like to set up in the Philippines in conjunction with my wife, it is legitimate and would pay well once up and running. I think you are just the person to manage it. I am serious and it is nothing illegal and something you can easily tell your mom without shame. Let me know if you want to hear more via other communication. Take care and kind regards Alex Kent. Brisbane Australia.

Ms. Pea, once again you delved into a sensitive and important topic. You indicated how the desperation of finding work, the establishment of severe poverty, and moral choices a lady has to make to have money to survive. I think that it is also important to point out that for many decades, women in the Philippines have been left without any real choices to earn anything other than the sex trade. You also bring out their inner reluctance and inner struggles that comes along with these decisions, and show that the real goal is to be loved, accepted, respected, have a husband who really loves them and have a happy life! Me. Pea, thank you for another phenomenal insight into the what, how and why of elements that not only exist in the Philippines, but world wide!

She is a victim because she took this 'job' out of desperation, but she is also active in normalizing this form of degeneracy. The company she is acting through should be shut down and she should take a job as a virtual assistant instead. If this kind of behavior is tolerated it will spread, and she is doing damage to herself and others in the process. This job should disappear and be replaced by non-sexual online work.

I feel bad for her because she is having to do something that she isn't comfortable with. I understand that it is very difficult to get a job in the Philippines. I'm glad to hear that she has a plan for when she is able to stop. As for what I think of cam shows, in my opinion if the woman feels comfortable about her body and wants to do it of her own accord and not because it is the only way to make money I say why not. As for the legality, that is a very sticky situation. I don't think it should be illegal as long as it is between 2 consenting adults

Great show again Pea , anything that shows the humanity and price of survival is always contributing to understanding and empathy. Post covid , if that's ever a thing there is not a lot of opportunities coming anyone's way. Funny about it been illegal, especially in the Philippines where the government and military do so much worse damage and greed for money and power underpins all of that. Sadly the restriction of travel and cost and covid means those of us with commitment and a willingness to make a contribution cannot get there one day perhaps, we do what we can and in my case I hope my love and small contribution keeps mum and 3 children away from a frustrating and unfulfilled future , I hope many others are doing what they can.

Honestly, your channel has to be the most informative channel about life in PHL. Westerners probably have no idea what living in a impoverished country is like. Also the restrictive policies that mandate people pay to work must drive more people to desperation for survival. Even public schools have parents pay for classroom supplies. God bless those Filipinos that struggle to get an education, or not but somehow always find ways to help their families. Nothing is free or easy, especially in the Philippines where it seems like everyone is trying to take advantage of the underprivileged.

These stories are just so sad. I can't imagine anyone wanting to use the services of these poor girls, knowing about their histories. Edit: I can't believe she wants anything to do with men, after such a humiliating first experience. It's very surprising to me that she has a boyfriend. BTW, excellent article that you linked. Reminds me of Thailand and the Red Bull heir who killed a policemen. Despite years of searching, no law enforcement agents could ever locate him living in his parent's house, swimming in his parent's pool, and driving around the same town. Money speaks louder than the law in many places.

Wow, another great interview. Your last two videos I'm sure we have all heard of but this is one that I'm ignorant of. I don't mean to say that I've never heard of this topic before. I gusee I just never associated it with the Philippines, but of course it is. It is all over the world. I guess. One thing i notice is that most of the stories are very similiar in the last few videos. It doesnt seem like any of them are happy about what they do for a living, well except for the one that said she would continue even after she got a better job, but for the most part they all do it out of necessity to make a living. Also mentioned in this one is that nobody is getting hurt by what she is doing unless there is a scammer on either side trying to scam the other. I have to disagree on this point. This young lady said that she has a BF that doesnt know what she is doing, and she has even developed feelingg for one of her cliants and would like to meet him. Someone is getting hurt !! The dishonesty alone is going to eventually catch up with her and people will get hurt. Great job Pea, Looking forward to the next video. TFS

Most times these type stories get posted they always show the sad stories of the P4P bussiness. There are many, many beautiful Filipina's who enjoy very much working in the P4P bussiness and would not except another good paying by Philippine standards job even if it were offered. But as in the case of so many orginazations they refuse to show those girls. I've ask Pea to give us those girls interviews and got zero response from her. Just so you know, there are models even some on billboards around Manila who are excorts at night with Foreingers and do enjoy their work, and that includes doing the dirty deed. I personally know girls in US who do cam shows and have good jobs but love the work. Honestly Owen, your less educated watching these type video's not more educated about the P4P bussiness. Although I don't partake in such things I am very educated about them, much more then most posting about this video.

Hi Pea. Yet another thought provoking video. In this case and that of the call girl the other week, I think the question of morality and even legality have to be put aside a little. As these two cases show the girls are doing this reluctantly but they feel they have no other choice, so perhaps it is the system that is letting people down. Your guest today is obviously willing to do a 'proper' job but is hampered by the weird employment regulations yet she is desperate to help her family. This is not just a problem in your country but it happens here in the UK as well and probably elsewhere in the world, I myself once considered going on the wrong side of the law just to keep a roof over my head. Yes we need laws to protect people and I'm not for one moment endorsing a welfare system that encourages people to live off the state but perhaps assistance could be better targeted to help those with a genuine need survive with some dignity rather than forcing them to pursue the lives that they do. Thanks for such a wonderful channel. Keep it coming. John
