Something I learned is that even if you are inconveniencing somebody, don’t apologize. Simply say “thank you for waiting for me”. It’s good to speak positivity into existence
@bobbiemarie6777 Жыл бұрын
A confidence hack I have learned is to get comfortable with taking your time. For example someone sends you a email and your unsure what to respond, reply to them that you have received their email and will response as soon as possible. Then take your time to think through what you’re being asked. If someone attempts to put you on the spot and you’re unsure tell them you will get back to them on it.

That exclamation girlie point is so valid. I used to overuse exclamation points to show excitement, add value, exude interest, etc but literally this week I was typing out a message to a business owner and said yeah no. I am not about to show extra emotion that’s truly not there. It felt liberating almost after doing it since college days.

Thanks for this video Bria.. One of my colleagues actually told me, that I need to 1.Stop over apologizing because no one cares, 2. Start talking like a confident person, 3. Participate in meetings more, and stop being quite. I really wish all these things were easy to do cz during meetings I normally have a brain freeze, cz I would literally have nothing to contribute. I don't know whether I have low-self esteem or whats really happening with me.. I want all of these things

Loved this video! The book Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg really shifted my mindset and made me hyper aware of the silent but loud signals I was sending in business interactions. Really insightful! I would definitely appreciate a video of how to communicate effectively and affirmatively. Always seeking strategy in that area. Bria, you’re so inspiring. You know when you see someone and you know they’ve done the work on themselves??? That’s you for sure. You are a testament to the other side. Keep being great.

This is the most realistic and helpful video about confidence. Most of what you mentioned, I had in my mind already, but I had self-doubt whether am I right with changing myself into this or that. I forgot my choices were making me adjust to other people and not serving myself anymore. This video woke me up. Thank you, ma’am Bria. ✨

The "Just" is a conversation killer for sure. In my Salex exec days, that was the first thing we learned to take out of our vocab. You sound so much more confident when you get straight to the point. Thank you for this video--it had some gems that every woman needs to be reminded of occasionally. I also learned that when you enter a room, keep your chin up and look to the back of the room. You will become much more confident, and people treat you differently.
@Lifeofrac2 жыл бұрын
I always preach to my peers about confidence and one thing I can absolutely attest to is never stop learning and it’s ok to see yourself as a student. Contrary to popular belief, listening and being receptive of what someone else is talking about shows that you are more intelligent. Intelligent people prove that they are intelligent by always learning. Not always teaching.

“Closed mouths don’t get fed.” Thank you, Bria. I found your channel less than a week ago (this video is 9 months old at the time of this comment on 2/16/23). I greatly appreciate everything you said in this video. With respect to apologizing more than we need to, I completely agree. Having said that, there are occasions when an apology is valid and appropriate. In the times when we need to apologize, I learned to stop saying “I’m sorry” and instead say “I apologize”. The difference being that when we say we’re sorry, on a subconscious level, that can cause us to feel as though we’re “sorry” individuals (low-life, bum, no value, etc. - whatever way we want to interpret that), whereas, when we simply say “I apologize”, we indicate that we feel regretful about whatever wrong we’ve done, while we retain our identity and our self-worth. Thank you again for this video in particular. I found a lot of valuable information here. 17:15

I would definitely like to see a video where you give examples of what to say to sound more confident. I write fiction and I am always looking for better ways to describe conversations or to describe a room or setting. I see it as an art form. I study how people generally speak in conversational English to other people: friends, family as opposed to how they might speak to a stranger or a professional. I also try to use correct English when I describe what is happening in a story as opposed to how two friends will speak i. e. how a southerner would use regional terms or a non-native English speaker would phrase something. I know that I’m being longwinded here, I just wanted you to know how appreciative I would be to learn how to speak with confidence in any situation. Thank you so much for sharing your advice, Bria!
