I wish they would have kept it true to the comics. What they did now made him not even really a bad guy. They are just all good guys with differing opinions on what is right. A love story for Thanos would have been way more interesting. With how strong he is, it would take an exceptional, unique, strong lady to make him go crazy in love. Who else fits that bill better than Death herself? Plus, Lady Death could have also been the gateway to work in Deadpool because he's had the hots for her too.

Though that was Loki's fault, he was arrogant and failed. Yes, Tony delivered that nuke, but blaming Stark for that would be way bellow the Thanos level. This specific scene was to help us know that Tony wasnt just having nightmares but he was connected via conscience to Thanos, meaning Thanos shared the same nightmares as Stark. Like the video said, the plan for both of them changed as soon as they were aware of each other. Also like to point out if Thanos only knew Stark because of the soul stone, that would suck out emotion and meaning and this film woulda been made by the DC universe
