two years ago i gave the Danish police every single piece of evidence i had on those who scammed me, in januar 2024 the police send me an email telling me they closed my cases because they didn't have the resourses to contact foreing police. i send a complaint of them not doing the correct job. my complaint was rejected with the same reason. the amount of mental and financial loss i went through and no justice. Local and federal law enforcement leave a LOT to be desired -- especially with their respect to knowledge of the law and basic civil rights. But in this case, they did not have probable cause to arrest this guy, as other commenters have suggested. What would have been the right course of action (IMHO) would be to engage in extended questioning of the mule while trying to get someone from the FBI to show up. As even the Trilogy Media guys said, this is a *Federal* crime -- and local cops don't arrest people for Federal crimes. However, the cop in the hallway screwed up big time because, even after being told that the issue was NOT that the guy wouldn't leave, he went back into the hotel room and told his partner, and the mule, that the issue was that Trilogy Media just wanted the mule to leave.

Unfortunately those police couldn't do anything. A lot of the crime was outside their jurisdiction - FBI and INTERPOL are more that jurisdiction - and most of what they had locally they couldn't do a thing about because of the ludicrous sanctuary city laws put in place by people who don't care about protecting anyone from crimes. Then the government started giving out surplus military equipment like candy on Halloween. I saw a department for a town that had 500 people and two part-time officers that got an Armored Personnel Carrier. Am I the only person wondering what the fuck? Everything has changed. Getting money for drug arrests, not convictions, was a stupid idea. Granting seizure power on large sums of cash that departments get to keep was a terrible idea. Monetizing the function of law enforcement is patently stupid. The reality is the current crop of chiefs, sheriffs, and brass like it this way.

The cop literally *_flexed_* about letting someone (presumably also illegal) who had previously committed a double homicide go after being arrested by him.... Seems like their "sanctuary state" is protecting the wrong people.
