no legitimate pawn shop would buy stolen goods. The police can take it away if a report is lodged and verified, and they're out of money. if it's also found that they did not do due diligence to identify the rightful owner of the item, whether deliberately or through negligence, they could be fined/lose their license

Just an FYI - Rolex did manufacture a quartz model for a number of years called the OysterQuartz, available in steel, two-tone and gold. Also, Rolex do not stamp the back case of their watches (with the exception of the Sea Dweller).

Having been burgled while living in Chicago, i can tell you the cops don't even treat burglary as a crime. I got robbed by my old neighbors. Cops told us not interested when we didn't have full names and current addresses. cops seemed annoyed we weren't happy with a form for the insurance... insurance didn't pay either , just because we like.... didn't have any policy...

There was a pawn shop in my town that got scammed for $15,000+. Scammers came in with 15k+ worth of gold jewelry, they had it all appraised and then put it back in a baggie on the counter. When the owner turned his back for a second to grab their money they swapped it out with an identical bag of counterfeit jewelry. Took the guy about a half hour after they left before he realized. Stay safe!
