Guy calls Destiny a liar. Destiny asks what he lied about. Guy goes on a random rant making multiple random statements. Destiny asks if he has proof for anything the guy says. Guy decides to move on and changes the topic. The new topic inadvertently boils down to Guy calling Destiny a liar. And it repeats on and on.....

Come on dude. The guy said Destiny won't admit when he's wrong. He accused him of being bad faith. He used the 9 to 1 ratio and cookies for bombs as examples Destiny doesn't always have to be right.. we don't always have to defend him...
@-BlazeK-6 ай бұрын
@@FrostySpoon804 Destiny admits when he's wrong all the time. If you want me to argue the examples give me a timestamp of where he makes a statement and then the source which opposes it. Because i see your cookies for bomb example and as far as i know everyone who laughed at the statement had no idea what they were talking when it came to bomb making and couldn't actually counter the statement.
@jerrylastname85506 ай бұрын
What drives me up the wall is the constant loop of: Loudly exclaim the thesis statement: Steven refuses to admit when he's wrong Thesis is asked to be defended Thesis is given with the slightest amount of pushback Repeat thesis statement again: Hahahaha, Destiny is so bad, he'll never admit when he's wrong Repeat over and over until he leaves the call after repeating his thesis for the 15th time.
@FrostySpoon8046 ай бұрын
@@-BlazeK- I dunno. I don't watch all of Destiny's streams, but I watch a lot, and he comes off pretty combative and kinda resistant to concede. Maybe I'm missing the streams where he's admitting when he's wrong all the time. Imo, most of the time it seems like he's right lol. But yeah for simplicity just take the cookies for rockets part at 51:48. It comes across that he doesn't even truly believe the argument. Look how he reacts, he just jokes and doesnt even engage it. I don't feel like watching the whole thing over again but I don't think he tries to defend it or admit he was arguing just to argue for the rest of the call. Or around 56:00 where he addresses the 9 to 1 ratio, but ends up with this defensive attitude "my mistakes arent like your mistakes"... It was an honest mistake, seemed like a credible source, it's not a big deal, just be cool about it. But no lol And I think that's the point in a nutshell. There's a common criticism of Destiny, and there may be something to it. If he would just come down to earth instead of being in debate mode so often I feel like everyone (not literally) would love him. But he doesn't, and despite all his success, he still turns people off and it holds him back. No?

The reason tribunals were done away with was because streamers communities could easily pardon the streamer any time they get banned and some were abusing it to break the rules far more than they otherwise would have.
@bobjenkins49256 ай бұрын

Just to chime in on the music degree thing. There are a lot of degrees that require basically no actially playing of instruments. Also. Even with performance degrees. Many of these guys have never performed outside their classroom or asignments. They have no practical experience. Which is why many are encouraged to apply to sight reading, jazz, competitions, or join a smaller music group. For myself. I applied to basically every single pop up band I possibly could. Kind of got that ingrained in me because my teacher in high school would make sure I went to basically every joint band session in our community. They were pretty ruthless if you couldn't perform immediately, or you couldnt understand an instruction. Theyd demote your chair position or remove you. I was doing it all the time and would barely be able to keep up cause they pureposefully test your limits Many many people getting music degrees dont do this stuff until after they already have the degree. They are being set up to fail

The tribunal was taken down because people IP farmed it. Basically everyone loaded it up waited the time and than pressed the ban button. It didn't help at all. It just gave people 100ip a day to pretend a few people reviewed it. I do miss reading all the chats that got reported though. That was fun content.

51:48 I think it is true that Destiny does this, he is an incredibly successful, independent, intelligent person, so naturally he also has a large ego(I do not mean that in the insulting way, but the psychological way). Given this, it would be natural and normal for it to be very emotionally difficult for him to admit mistakes, especially in the moment as he is probably aware he is making a mistake in the moment and is already feeling strong emotions about that fact itself, another thing that happens when you have high standards for yourself. Having said all that and knowing that Destiny is going to be defensive, using that fact as a bludgeon to attack him with in the middle of a podcast is quite literally the worst possible way to address that particular flaw. So Dan, I know it was partly a bit, but knock it off if you believe this is a real issue and have some empathy. For people with larger egos it is genuinely very hard to admit mistakes and the best way to get them to do it is to create a space that is comfortable and safe for them to do so. What comfortable and safe feeling looks like for Destiny I have no clue, he's a weird dude, but I'm sure he can figure it out. People are all different and have different strengths and weaknesses, it is important to admit mistakes and reflect on things you could do better, but that does not have to happen in the moment, it is ok to do it later, but it something that should probably happen, but I also think Desitny does already dod this, clearly others feel differently so maybe doing it more often would be good or more publically idk. Anyways, sorry for overstepping though I doubt this gets seen so its whatever. I have the ego issue and other people in my life have the same issue and trying to force that issue in the moment literally never works and only makes the problem worse, so it is frustrating to see that same mistake being made on a personal level. But I also don't actually know you guys or if this is a bit or an exaggeration or what not, figured I'd share some of what I have learned on the subject though since it came up. Could probably say even more, but this is long enough. Rando out o7

It would be stupid not to say something about it and wouldn’t do any favors to Destiny, right?

@@AI3Dorinte lol that’s actually pretty good. Because you’re right. If someone brought the wrong order out and it was mildly incorrect, I’d eat it and not be a whiney baby. Your opinion doesn’t matter and people will do things, especially Destiny, because they want to. It’s thinking that your bitching is seen as anything otherwise, again especially by a guy like Destiny, that is flawed. As you said, don’t watch it if it bothers you. Creators learn early to give zero merit to comment sections. People will disagree with your direction for something until the day you stop posting. If it seriously gets to a point where you feel a certain type of content you had in mind is missing in the world, you can go build it yourself and then you can afford to ignore people like you. He wouldn’t have asked Dan to join him on this if he didn’t want to do this

@@dblackout1107 "As you said, don’t watch it if it bothers you." - Wouldn't this apply to my comment? If you don't like it just move on and give me a break? I will keep commenting whatever the hell I want, I don't care how much of a simp you are to Destiny. Creators learn to avoid individuals and I can guarantee that they watch stats AND comments that get a lot of thumbs up. Sometimes my comments get an answer, some sort of feedback, sometimes those comments are part of change. Yes, most of the time they don't and that is fine. You know what you remind me of? Religious people who feel the need to protect some God from my disrespectful statements, Destiny doesn't need protection from my comments, you don't need to defend his ass, I wasn't even disrespectful towards him lol. Just chill a little bit and read my comment as if it was in good faith and it doesn't mean anything else than honest criticism.
@dblackout11076 ай бұрын
@@AI3Dorinte it’s not even defending him. It’s like going to a music festival with some people and telling them the whole time why it needs to be done differently because you think you’re an authority on it. It’s a mood killer and nobody will say to your face what a tool you are being, but they’ll definitely be thinking it. Then enters the internet where in this case people say what they’re thinking and you get me here lol you won’t change for me just as much as Destiny won’t change for whatever you dump on his comment section. When literally anyone with an internet connection can dump their views on your content in the modern age, you learn to ignore it and stay true to yourself.

A child being used by a criminal as a human shield is still innocent. Therefore it would be wrong to hurt or injure them to get at the criminal. Since when does the criminality of the criminal apply to the innocent child they are using as a shield?
