Nadine, I began my walk on the Camino in my heart over 15 years ago. I have yet to take my first physical step. Your videos are helping to fortify my resolve to keep walking...and that I will get to the Camino! Thank you!

Yes, you WILL get to the Camino! But it's also true that you're Camino started a long time ago, and maybe you have been walking every day since you heard the call :)

I just love your energy, smile and gratefulness! You are an inspiration on how to enjoy everything on the Camino! 138 days before I go! Can’t wait!

Thank you so much, I just love being on the Camino and walking, so it's not too hard to feel grateful when I'm out there!

You don't take the wrong path, you simply walk a little more to continue appreciating the path, the landscape, life. In all your paths. Ultreia. Buen camino.

I just watched all 7 days of the Camino Finisterre. Every video was wonderful with beautiful scenery and as usual a delightful story of your adventure. Thinking of heading back again next spring. You have given me some great ideas for my next Camino.

Thanks Mike, it was a really nice Camino, especially with looping around to walk back to Santiago... a very nice 7/8 day option!

I always kinda like it when I'm lost... but I'm never really lost. It kinda switches on my "adventure mode". Another enjoyable video. Cheers and adventure on!

Yes that's true, it helps you stay on your toes and can certainly fee more adventurous!!

Love this stage with the tree-lined pathways. You are so good-natured about "getting lost." I have always really been hard on myself or beat myself up if I get off track or turned around while hiking. Trying to work on that as well.
@NadineWalks2 жыл бұрын
Haha, sometimes I'm just a bit hard on myself if I miss an arrow and get off track (it doesn't happen a ton, but it DOES happen), but mostly I try to take it in stride. Everyone is bound to get a little off track on a long walk! It's all part of the adventure :)
@CaminoAir2 жыл бұрын
It is tricky at times. Near Santiago there is a left turn that looks far too narrow to be the Camino route. I turned right instead and after a while I found a yellow arrow on a sign. However this wasn't the Camino route and instead it brought me downhill to the end of the university area (about 2.5km from the Cathedral). I don't know who painted that yellow arrow, but it did further confuse me and otherwise I would have backtracked and taken the correct left turn for the final 3km.
@NadineWalks2 жыл бұрын
Yes, sometimes there are definitely some turns/sections where things are confusing. Sometimes I can rely on my gut instinct, sometimes I rely on a navigation tool, and sometimes I need to go the wrong way for a bit until I can get myself back on track.

Just love your energy ! Always looking forward for your content.. In one past video when you showed your packing list, you mentioned that you were going to try the waist belt. Just wondering if you are liking it. and if so, what size did you get? Thanks in advance !!!!!! Planning my first Camino for next September !!!!!!!!

This is the one I got- it's a 3 liter and a bit larger than what I needed, but overall I really love it! It will come with me on all future Caminos :) www.rei.com/product/130597/cotopaxi-bataan-fanny-pack?CAWELAID=120217890004963258&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=100913725825&CATCI=aud-1396942686875:pla-499908401687&cm_mmc=PLA_Google%7C21700000001700551_1305970001%7C92700056404988305%7CNB%7C71700000066691922&gclid=CjwKCAiAp7GcBhA0EiwA9U0mtoBW8JPgIYnvDVNJ9JSLfp5fWu-WK4FXZNTxuXfp4G5tC4zZNkLsKRoCxmYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

You found a hat. Don't lose this one. Also introduce us to how you navigate the Camino; app or map or guide book. And what is your preference.
@NadineWalks2 жыл бұрын
Haha, I got that second hat way back in Leon, it just doesn't appear much in my videos (I need to be better about wearing a hat more, but also, I tend to wear the hat in the afternoon when the sun is on my face, and I record much less in the afternoons. So maybe that's why the hat hasn't really made much of an appearance until now?) I'll try to talk about navigation in a future video- I like using the Buen Camino app!
@jpmcc2 жыл бұрын
@@NadineWalks I trust the BCapp myself. Wish they would populate the app with more variants, esp the coastal in Portugal. The Camino Ninja app has those variants, because my walking partner for the day was using that app, however the app creator passed away in mid Summer and cannot download the app any more. I've never read a Camino guide nor took the time for reciew a map. I walk off-line, not connected to a network, until I arrive to my accommodation and use their wifi. GPS is a small wonder.

I don't think I was ever TOO lost, but it's true, got to keep your eye out for the arrows!
@afptoronto18 ай бұрын
I'm guessing you were following the Buen Camino gps? Yeah, that mixed me up too! It tells you to turn where there is no turn! But some nice locals helped me out. BTW, the other route that you didn't take is nice but steeper and you don't pass through a well stocked town.
@NadineWalks8 ай бұрын
Haha yes, following the Buen Camino app! I know it's probably not perfect, but it's still my app of choice :)

How often do you feel lost or confused en route? Has it changed as you have gained more experience?
@NadineWalks2 жыл бұрын
I don't tend to get lost or confused too much- sometimes big cities can get me turned around (which I think is pretty typical!), and in this case, going backwards made navigation a bit more difficult. But I usually have an eagle-eye for the arrows! And I think having more experience has helped, too, as you suggested. I have a decent sense of when I need to look for an arrow, or when it's been awhile since I've seen one, so I often don't get too far off track.
