I am Egyptian my mother language is Arabic so English is my second language for one year I was started to learn English at this period I can't understand without subtitles, but now with a lot of effort,learn and practice I become understand without subtitle I became understand English as Arabic. Am I right to say that the confusing words you mentioned are homophones, not homonyms? Since they have the same pronunciation but different meanings, origins, or spelling.
