The conductor is a very special wonderful person. Giving the gift of joy with a bit of a history lesson as well. He is absolutely a terrific person. The story of his autistic son made me tear up.

Unfortunately when my wife and I stopped here back in the early 2000s, it was during the first week of January so the house and train ride weren't open due to the weather being so wet and cold. It was nice to finally see what we missed, and that train engineer was awesome!

Great video you guys go to some pretty cool places this is where they have the redwood run every year right across the street is redwoods river resort is where I would stay it’s a nice place to camp but thanks a lot for the video we used to walk through that place at night time and yes the train ride is pretty cool but I don’t remember an engineer captivating an audience like that. There is a lot to see up there the Avenue of the Giants is where you will see some huge redwood trees even laying down.

I live right above the Redwoods near the ocean at hwy 101 & 199. Hope you made it up this way. Ocean World is a fun thing to do here. If I had known you guys then I would have met up with you two. It is beautiful here. We have some beautiful sunrises and sunsets on our beaches. A gorgeous lighthouse you can visit in the summer when the tides are lower. We have a marine mammal center & surfing at a couple of our beaches. Also hope you made it to see Trees of Mystery where you can also see Paul Bunyon and Babe for pic options. There is a skytrail there too. So glad you got to enjoy Confusion Hill.

Ok , so if I ever travel to the States it's going to be Northern California. Beautiful trees and what a nice sunny day that was. I live in country Australia among the trees and absolutely love it. The tree that jess said has the soft texture to it that looks like hair..., we have similar bark over here . They are called stringy bark eucalyptus trees. That train guy was hilarious though, very knowledgeable. Good video 🙂
