We are so thankful to discover this channel! Usha Pandit is a fabulous teacher! When should we expect to be able to watch the 3rd section on conjunctions? Thank you so much for the great explanations about grammar, spelling and the English language in general. My child loves watching Ms. Pandit's videos and is finally gaining an appreciation for writing.

May I use 'OR' more than one time in a clause. Like: 1. Rakesh is Hypocrite or Pessimistic or miserly. (May it be grammatically true?)
@TheMindspringsEnglishTeacher3 жыл бұрын
Incorrect. 1. You may have cake or biscuits or chocolates. Or can be used for a list. 2. Rakesh is a hypocrite, a pessimist and a miser. The 'or' in the case of Rakesh does not make sense as he can be all three. It is not a choice like the items in the first sentence.

Ma'am, can you please post a distinction between so and therefore. i'm soo confused with them. while practicing, if i say so, therefore is resulting in as answer and vice-versa happening. this would be very helpful to me. Or share me if such video is already posted somewhere in your words.
@TheMindspringsEnglishTeacher4 жыл бұрын
I think they are interchangeable as conjunctions showing consequence. But 'so' perhaps can be used to begin an argument after a series of circumstances. For e.g. The windows were unlatched, the watchman was on leave. The maid was sleeping and the dog was away with the master of the house. So, it was a wonderful opportunity for the thief to steal the heirloom. (Here, 'so' is better than 'therefore' which could have been comfortably used if it was a two clause sentence.) But even here, if you interchanged them it would not be so terrible. So don't worry too much about this.
