Back in the '50s thru the mid '70s in the north eastern Gaines Co. we had 8" wells at less than 170'. Things sure have changed. This year couldn't plant anything so count your blessings. Like your videos keep going.🇺🇸👆🇺🇲

Conley what is the long-term prospects for the aquifer feeding those wells? I am sure that fuel costs have really cut into your profits, along with everything else going up because of inflation.

We’re hoping the water will come back if not we’ll have a lot of dry land acres 😢

how long does your pump motors last
@conleybanman2 жыл бұрын
Some have lasted for over 10 years but motors burn out quick if lightning hit them. But average I’d say is around 5 years

Nice to see you. Every time I shell a peanut I think of you. I don't know what it is with you big guys and seat belts but I wish you would wear yours. I bet your wife and baby would say the same. You must cover a lot of ground checking that many wells. Who dug all those wells and for what in the beginning? Good video. Pax.
@conleybanman2 жыл бұрын
Well I drive lots of back roads on the farm so the seat belt gets annoying but I wear it when I’m actually on the road. But about half of the wells have been there when we bought the land and the rest we hired out to drill new wells. It was all originally for water

allot of aquafirs were filled by melting glaciers so some arent going to be replenished very quickly and the rest are filled by pot holes and certain rivers, but some of those city folks that point bony fingers at farmers dont realize that new housing developments and factories in city industrial estates are hooking up huge volume water systems, but its just easier to blame the silly farmer.........whos growing THEIR food.

Exactly for some dumb reason farmers get blamed for everything even environmental issues

We have a river next to our fields where we have set up a pump that pumps water to our fields. We don't use pivets like you, but a water canon that runs through the fields. The main problem is that in order to get water you need a licencefrom the government to take the water. We have been battling the government for years in order to get that licence and their main argument is that taking water from the river may pose an environmental issue for the fish. Our soil is basically silty-sand and not being able to water the fields equals no crop so to say.

Yikes that’s a terrible situation to be in
