Will this also work for the Rode Wireless go? I already bought a TRS to TRRS cable, but it didn't work on my mac. It still said headphones instead of external mic looking at the audio settings. Will this splitter help my mac recognize it? Can I do a facebook live with it then? I don't need to use any software?

I am finding that it does 'not' work to plug in my Rode videomic Me-l. It is designed for the Iphone with a lightning connection. The female 3.5mm connection on the phone is, I think, only for audio. I'd love to have someone confirm or challenge this. I am wondering if I can adapt with a 'female lightening' adaptor to the Rode videomic Me-l and from there to my Macbook Pro?

Hey man, can you help me please. I own the black splitter I have a Rode Video Pro - I have watched multiple vids and forums, my 2018 MacBook Pro won’t recognize it. I am so sad right now lol.

which black splitter? are you referring to the white little splitter in my vid? If you have it, it happened to me as well with my macbook pro, at first I thought it didnt work, but if you open up audio settings and play around with plugging it in different order you will get it to work. Like try plugging only the splitter and immediately plug in the microphone, play around with that until it shows "external microphone"

Remember, just in case, it's the splitter that splits into headphone and microphone, not the one that splits into two headphones

Lucas Guanes got that exact one. Didn’t work. My laptop is recognizing it as an external mic, but in Final Cut Pro X... NO audio input. :(

Hi, I replied to someone about this in the comments, check it out. It does work for me on a 2017 macbook pro, you just need to play with it a bit to get it working

if you use the adapter and don't plug headphones then you will hear through your Mac's speakers

None of the videos mention what to do when you only want mic connected. I do not want headphones connected. Imagine a Skype scenario where audio should be produces by macbook's speakers.

yes you can. Simply use voice over recording in FCP or on Quicktime
