If we have GA4 data exported in BigQuery already, is it always preferable to use the BQ connection in looker studio? Thanks

It is more flexible, no api quota limits. but the learning curve is steep.

How can we create users heat map on hours, day of week in Google data studio reports? Kindly help

Can you please answer my question? Assume that you are running ad's on different search engine like Google, bing etc And your traffic is going on your weblink, keep this in your mind that domain is same for both of the ads. Now in order to differenciate the submission which one is from google and which is from bing? What would be the best practice to differentiate it with using another domain.

I ran into some issues with GA4 and looker Studio since beginning of November - even pretty simple dashboards exceed the data limit of GA4 very fast (especially when cross filtering is applied) - I tried to work around with the extract but session ans user counts are very different to the GA4 live data. Do you know these issues?

Yes, Google started enforcing GA API limits (including Looker Studio). Learn more community.profitabledashboards.com/c/tips/what-you-need-to-know-about-ga4-api-quota-limits-and-looker-studio-156fe291-c344-48c0-be59-ec2a13454b85

Yes there are quotas now on GA API. Everything is broken for a lot of people, including me. It's driving me batshit crazy. That came out of nowhere ; I don't remember where but I read somewhere it was a "quotapocalypse", i do agree. The solutions I tried so far are: #1 - You can use Google's "Extract Data" connector to do a (daily, monthly, etc.) snapshot of your GA4 data, and then rely on this snapshot to populate your Looker reports. Because you're using the snapshot, you're not affected by GA quotas. Now, this is on paper. I tried this solution MANY TIMES, and it never works. Might be my fault, might not. I've stumbled upon a lot of people online which have the same errors than me there, and nothing helped so I moved on to the next solution. I might try this again at some point. #2 - You can pay for a partner connector (Supermetrics, AnalyticsCanvas...). They're great, but it's mind-blowing that you now need to pay $40/month or so to do the same that was free 10 days ago. The money isn't even going in Google's pockets, it's baffling. #3 - You can use BigQuery, since GA4 allows a free connection with BQ. So first you send your GA4 data to BQ, and then from BQ to Looker. Problem is, if you know nothing to SQL (which is my situation), you're back to solution #2 and you need to pay connectors to do the heavy SQL work for you. AnalyticsCanvas offers this kind of thing, but it's over 200$/month and the company I work for can't afford that for now). I would still recommend to link you GA4 data to BQ at some point so you can save your historical data somewhere, but that's another subject. #4 - Feed your GA4 data in Sheets, and then use it as source for your Looker reports. But GA4>Sheets is not natively supported like with Universal Analytics. Same, if you want some automation you need connectors, or to do your own thingh through Apps Script (from what I understood, not sure here). For now i'm using this Sheets' solution for my critical reports, but it's nowhere as convenient as before, it's just a backup solution until i figure the next steps - or until Google acknowledge this is a business critical error regarding Looker. I apologize if I made any english mistakes, it's not my first language. If anyone has a solution to this whole mess Google created, please feel free to share, it would be deeply appreciated.

@@AnalyticsMania thank you for the reply. the data Extract to looker studio shows totally wrong numbers and recreating the ga4 dimensions and metrics in bigquery costs lots of time AND it is not guaranteed that the numbers are about the same as in GA4
