Canada here. Meet you in the middle wearing a #9 Gordie Howe Red Wings jersey. A great man on and off the ice who richly deserves this honour. I'll be popping over to see he Maple Leafs play the Red Wings first chance.

Six more sections to connect. Three more pair of stay cables from each Tower. Plus the bridge is only stage one of Six stages yet to even come close to being completed in by 2025. so fact check the facts. The jointing won't be until late June or July.. The last set will be custom built after the final section Distance & Span is measured.

@@Jazz313 The best way to tell how many sections are left is to count the stay cables. When finished, there will be 27 pairs of stay cables extending over the river from each tower (54 cables to the U.S. tower and 54 cables to the Canada tower). Each section of the road structure has 2 stay cables, one on each side. There will be a total of 54 road sections, each with 2 stay cables, between the towers (27 sections attached to the U.S. tower & 27 sections attached to the Canada tower). Finally, there will be 1 connecting section without stay cables. There is a drone video on KZbin, made on 4/30/24. This video shows that, as of 3 days ago, there are 50 stay cables for the U.S. tower and 52 stay cables for the Canada tower. Therefore, the U.S. workers have 2 more sections to place and the Canadian workers have 1 more section to place. As the sections are being installed, the construction crew is using surveying techniques to keep the two sections of the bridge aligned in 3 dimensions. As the sections get close, there will be a measuremant taken to determine the exact size of the final piece. That measurement may have already taken place. The Gordie Howe International Bridge website has lots of photos and videos, including Q&A videos of workers, explaining what they do or how the bridge is put together. There are Q&A videos of the dog patrols and the falconry program, to keep other birds away.

It may be connected by early to mid June of this year by the looks of it. Still a lot of work to go before they connect but the gap has been closing fairly quickly now that it is getting warmer.
