Gavilar statue gets a soul stamp is my current crazy cosmere theory

I just finished a reread of The Emperor's Soul and had this exact same thought.

Was going to say there is no way that Gavilar accounted for his eventual untimely demise, because he wanted to avoid precisely that by becoming a sentient undead construct made from Investiture, but... A soul stamp might actually be an option as Moonlight used one on herself in The Lost Metal and that somewhat introduced the possibility of it being used elsewhere, yet there is a problem with this because she says it is very much experimental and not really done much on living beings because it's incredibly complicated. So it is very likely something would go wrong in the case of a soul stamp being used on Gavilar. Or in the case of Bloodsealing the effect wouldn't be permanent. There are caveats to this course whichever method is used. Which is how it should be, because Gavilar being re-animated should be a very conditioned occurrence. I personally don't think Gavilar should even be brought back, but if done so, then it has to be a short and very impactful event. Awakening also wouldn't bring back his consciousness. His soul is long gone, so that makes all this much more of a longshot...

I don’t think a soul stamp would work, because it takes time to make one of those and even than shai, a profoessinaol, didn’t think it was really possible until she did it

When I first read Way of Kings I was so confused... The first half of the book was a weird experience but then it really started to pick up and I was hooked all the way to the end. I am not sure if it is the best book in Stormlight but that was such an amazing experience that it just stuck with me. I've re-read WoK 3 times and it hooks me again every time.

Warbreaker 2 I think has huge cosmere implications. With the importance of Nightblood in the cosmere after RoW, it feels like the secrets to his creation will be very impactful to the cosmere. And with Vivenna likely learning a similar process from vasher between warbreaker and oathbringer to make her own shardblade with breath, it seems like warbreaker 2 might have to delve into those secrets

I think the most named character who is dead might be Honor, granted you said person but still we are here for the pedantic details. I have loved the podcast from day one! Thanks for making the last year + much nerdier and fun.

You should read elantris, I started with it and it's great. The only point is that BS should have given it a sequel sooner, same for warbreaker. The way he is writing the cosmere both of those stories deserve sequels asap. Also, I fucking love Vivenna

I don't know if you guys intentionally didn't mention Dragonsteel Nexus ticket sales in your recent Sanderson updates, but the fact that his convention sold out in under an hour is epic. VIP tickets in practically less time it takes to summon a shardblade. That's just insane! Anyway, great episode. I'm excited to get back to Roshar.

I would propose one of the reasons the sequel didn’t happen shortly after the first book is Sanderson finishing the WoT and creating Mistborn era 2. 7 books he hasn’t planned on writing taking up his time.

I feel I need to come up for Marvel Series - Moon Knight and Loki ❤ Also, I love the idea of making a compilation of all the theories people got wrong 😂 No judgement, I still think Dalinar is gonna live to book 10 and no one else does. I will die on that mountain!

I persoanlly like the Ishar champion theory. He seems to already think Dalinar is Odiums champion so Ishar could become Odiums champion while thinking he is Honor's champion.

Please elaborate on what happened when you talk about big events for those that didnt do a fresh reread (which I assume is a big portion of the audience). The spoiler warning already exists, no need to be so vague. I’m thinking specifically to the part where you guys talk about Denth dying and something to do with Nightblood. Then Christian said something about he couldnt believe “that” wasn’t thought of since he’s been alive for centuries but I’m so lost because I have no idea what “that” is. No need to hold back boys! Thanks for all the podcasts so far :-). Keep up the great work

That's a really good point and often a flaw in this show as I tend to forget there's more than just Jimmy and I chatting! I'll keep that in mind for future eps. But yes, it was the trick where Vasher gave his Breaths to Denth, making him distracted and jolt, allowing Vasher to get the jump on him. Cheers for the support!

Hey, Mr Cremling, if you’re looking for video ideas, I think a video recapping everything we know of the ghostbloods would do well to rekindle some intrigue for the fandom as we get ready for winds and truth. Maybe something similar to your kalak video. Just an idea :)

Everyone seems to be chomping at the bits for a Cosmere adaptation. But no one is offering up their personal Cosmere adaptation roadmap. Which series do you start with? Which series are movies and which are TV Shows? When you start the connections? And do you center everything around Hoid? And how do you explain some series being ahead (Timeline wise) of other series by decades of even centuries? I'd love a video from you guys trying to build YOUR OWN ROADMAP. Not what Sanderson would do, but what you would do.

Start with Warbreaker or a heavily adapted Elantris to try it out.

Finally through with the reread of Warbreaker so I can listen to this show! One thought I had, when you were talking about the awakened Gavilar theory (around 32:00): does Todium need breath for awakening? Or does another type of investiture work? Why did he seem to steal breath from Hoid during the epilogue of RoW. Or maybe I'm just getting things confused what exactly happend in that scene. Edit: you mention it here (51:40) but it could be connected to the intent of Todium to awaken someone!? He wouldn't only be interested in some of Hoids stored memories? Edit 2: but he can't have taken enough breath for awakening.. except he has access to Duralumin ;p

I am that one person Jimmy referenced: I will be annoyed that we don't keep getting Words of Radiance and instead receive a bunch of videos I can't watch until I finish a thousand+ page book (I take a more leisurely pace with books but I bet I'll have it finished in around two weeks).

Pretty sure part of TV's thoughts was that Szeth would think he's killed TV because of Rayse's corpse. If Nightblood went walkabout then Szeth wouldn't think this.
