Yah, were pretty 'good' at that. Most Germans do that and mean to be helpful without realising that they take away your opportunity to speak the language you spent so much effort on being able to speak it. I know I do that a lot. Please always let us know when you don't want us to do that. :) By the way, you were asking where we're getting our food when stores are closed: In Deutschland wird normalerweise viel mehr im eigenen Zuhause gekocht als ausgegangen. Gerade am Feiertagen kocht man üblicherweise was besonders aufwendiges. :)

As a German dude, I appreciate people like you. As a general rule. It is always appreciated if foreigners try to communicate with them in their language. If you just say a single word in their language, you already made their day. Also the reason why I started learning japanese before actually going to Japan.

that "einen Moment" really sounded like it's his 100% native/first language. maybe because it was more spontaneous? just speak often without aiming for perfection and pronounciation will improve naturally.

A tip for learning the pronunciation: You should learn the German alphabet (like how you speak the letters). That gives you a really good idea how to pronounce words. Because unlike English, German is a phonetic language. That means you speak like you write. In English, you basically have to learn how to pronounce each word individually (none of these words rhyme: though, through, thought, tough). German is much more logical concerning that :) if you got it once, you'll always do it right

oftmal deutsche sagt es Mec statt Määääck. it's pronounced longer so that you don't end up saying meck. long A (not long ae), so that you hear it as if he is saying mac. it's like saying, Happy instead of Heppy. but it's not actually saying HAHppy but between e and a, if you open your mouth wide and chin pulled backwards and you say AH then the sound will automatically sound Hääääppy! sorry, if i my explanation is a bit complicated.

@pelangable
@pelangable 6 жыл бұрын
you heard him say"Dang"! it's just an expression but it doesn't sound like he says, "Deng!". It's how the americans pronounce "ae". Pronounce it longer with mouth open wider, then the right pronunciation would come out automatically without even trying or being conscious about it. If you say "Dang!" shorter, the sound that would come out of your mouth would be "Deng ". So es ist auch with "Mac". Never mind if it isn't clear to you. perhaps, if you google the word and let the google pronounce it, you would understand what i mean. with that, i don't want to discuss this topic any longer.

There Are a bunch of English words which the Germans adopted. Some words like chillen (chill+ the german verb ending "en"), Baby, etwas/ jemanden abchecken(check sth./sb. out), clever (pronounced like a German) are used pretty often Basically all names for certain sport activities (Basketball, Baseball, Football, Ice Hockey, Bowling, Looping (mostly used when you ride a rollercoaster) , Jogger, Jetski, surfen (surf+en),K.O.(which you should pronounce like a German), Mountainbike(the special "Fahrrad" for rough terrain), trainieren(German pronounciation, train+ieren), Volleyball(only "ball" is pronounced in german), Wrestling, boxen(pronounced like a German), Frisbee, Fan (like a supporter not the one that you want on hot days. This one would be "Ventilator") Also many things related to economics or to the Internet ( Website, Interview, Manager, Meeting, mobben (mobb+en),Jetlag, Jeans, Laptop, Notebook, PC (for personal Computer which is pronounced in german), offline +online (used on the Internet), Playlist, Charts, Screenshot, Sponsor(German pronounciation), Tablet, T-Shirt, unfair(only "un" is pronounced in german), VIP, Webbrowser, Hashtag, Airbag, Beat + Backstage (used mostly at music events), Barkeeper, Clown, Cockpit (mostly used for aircrafts), Countdown, Also some foods: Marshmallow, Sandwich, Toast, Bacon, Burger, Chips, Steak, Ketchup, Popcorn,.. Okay due to fact that my hands feel cramped I stop. Just wanted to let you know some interesting facts though I'm pretty shure that you're already aware of this. Love your channel (especially those American words like: DAANG, DUDE, DARN, WHAT THE HECK tough I also enjoy communicating like those bloody Britains 😉) and you really progressed with your German in my opinion. Ich liebe deinen Kanal und du hast meiner Meinung nach wirklich Fortschritte gemacht. Much love from Freiburg 🇩🇪🇺🇸

"mobbing" im englischen ist eher physisch, also jemanden körperlich bedrängen oder angreifen. (und ja, eher von mehreren Personen) das was im deutschen als "Mobbing" bezeichnet wird ist ja eher ein Psychoterror und kein körperlicher Angriff, und das würde man im englische "bullying" nennen, egal obs mehrere oder einzelne Personen sind (wobei es in der Natur der Sache liegt, dass es meistens mehrere sind, aber nicht immer)
