Any roller hockey players can answer this question before I die. How do you guys stop in roller? Is it similar to ice? I have a tremendous amount of speed on ice, but I have no idea how to stop in roller hockey. I’ve played in one game and I thought my ankles were going to break.
@Fivedaysncounting Жыл бұрын

@Modulater83 Жыл бұрын
You can hockey stop on inline skates. Its basically the same principle as a hockey stop on ice skates (going from slip to grip in a controlled way) but much harder because the friction is different. I really suck at it, so I end up using real quick turns or even a slight "pizza slice" to stop or slow down. However there are guys in my league who make it look like they are on ice with how well they do it.
@jerfy2001 Жыл бұрын
im the complete opposite, very little ice experience, but played roller my whole life. you basically let you lead foot do all the work, and put 90% of your weight on that one, and basically only enough weight on the following foot to keep your balance. if you attempt to stop with both feet (most of the time) youll just slide out. that being said, i cant stop on ice to save my life. lol. im used to the wheels sliding a little (even with top of the line wheels), where i feel like my blades just bite into the ice super hard.

I never liked roller blades, just aggressive in lines. They are heavier and the wheels are smaller. I always felt awkward wearing inlines, and I never skated as well with them. 😢 Even on quad skates, I would jump over the kids who fell down because I was hauling ass. I'm not entirely sure what it is because it's a completely different dynamic, but the only skates I'm comfortable in. I'm like loppy and awkward any time I placed on rollerblades and fell a lot.
