Okay so for me I’m pretty sure Connor and Troye were a couple yes the evidence is very suggestive but it points in the same direction and the fact that we don’t still see photos of Connor at Troyes house in Australia (just them two) kind of alludes to something. I always understood twink to refer to young youthful men that were generally hairless. Race isn't as much of a factor, and there's even wiggle room for body type. (the sub categories of twunk and chubby twink)

In the late 90s we had a joke where we always called my friend a "Twinkie" because he was "cream filled" as is a joke (not behind his back, this was a friendly joke) and I always thought Twink was just a shortening of that. I'm not saying I thought my friends and I invented the word, but I thought it came from similar thinking and roots as a young, vapid (Twinkies aren't a food of any substance), blonde, bottom (being cream-filled referencing that).

Well 'Knabe' is actually just an old word for boy. It doesn't neccessarily refer to anything else, so if you say Knabe to a german, no one will associate it with a gay category. But still a good video.

I'm a Pacific Islander/Asian guy. Not slim but not too fat either. Kind of short and muscley/stocky (Sort of. I'm 5'7", 170cm). Not hairy or chubby enough to be a cub/bear. Too "straight acting" to be fem, too "gay acting" to be masculine. Not into sports. Not a complete Geek. Not into leather. Not skinny enough to be a twink, and not skinny or hairy enough to be an otter. I have enough muscle on me to be thick. I'm just... a dude with no category. At least I don't think. It actually upsets me a little bit because I don't feel like I belong anywhere. A friend jokingly said, "You look like a Straight ally." Not sure why that stung. But anyway... I guess it's nice to not be boxed in a category? Maybe it's OK to not feel like you belong in anything? I dunno. The dude in the video is cute though.

The first time I heard young gay men referred to as a “twinkie” was in Armisted Maupin’s “Tales of the City.” And many gay slang terms are often food based. Beef=muscular guys. Seafood=sailors. Buns=ass. Meat=penis. Chicken=young gay men. So I don’t think it’s out of the question that twink came from twinkie.

Yeah, but in English, "kn" is usually simplified to "n". See the English version of Knabe, knave. I guess "kuh-nah-be" was the closed he could get to the proper German pronounciation.
