All due respect to Connor - he's an amazing player, but he should not have won the Conn Smythe. It absolutely should have gone to Bobrovsky. There is no way to underestimate the value he provided the Panthers in their 16 wins, because after all, that's what this is all about - winning 16 games. Connor was a no-show in the most important game of the year. So let's review the "fact" that he broke the record for assists in a playoff season - if you look at assists PER GAME, he is solidly 4th to three guys all named Wayne Gretzky. 84-85 1.667 A/G, 87-88 1.632 A/G, 82-83 1.625 A/G and then Connor's 1.360 A/G. So again - Connor McDavid is an amazing player who I'd LOVE to have on my team, but what he did in these playoffs was not Conn Smythe worthy. He broke a record by playing in more games, not by doing more in the games he played. It also just puts a bad light on the NHL and the award in general.
